not really, it is designed for tubing and it has an aluminum backing that also has an adhesive strip to let you close it around itself...
as far as todays updates, i mounted the rear line locks... i dropped the tank so that i could get them tucked up in the chassis... i used some 1/8npt x 3/16 tubing compression adapters... everything will be wired into a micro switch that im going to hook into the release button on the e brake, stealthy....
i also got the mid section of the exhaust tig'd up... all stainless mandrel bent, and i blacked it all out... i dont want it to stand out at all... heres a shot before paint...

brakes are bled, front bumper is back on, and the a/c is charged... having issues w/ the tach signal and the pressure switch to ecu, but other than that, everything looks ready to go.... im ready to go drive...

Looks like a lot of nice work and ideas in this thing man.
The gauge idea is quite clever. The side ones look like it might not be easy to just glance at them and know what they are reading, but perhaps it looks better in the real world.
Looking forward to more updates!

Re: ek sleeper... top mount, back door IC, and A/C....
What a relief, i finally got to drive the car home today. I had to stop and make a temporary catch can and push the dust shield off of the rotor, but other than that everything was perfect. 60psi oil pressure, a/f mid 13s and just driving like an old man to seat the rings and break in the clutch. I finished the exhaust and it sounds sick... it is really deep, almost like a wrx, nice and lopey, a little noticable at highway speeds, but not annoying at all, the car rides phenomenal, no squeaks or popping... everything is so tight... i couldn't be more pleased...
Here is a couple of shots of the exhaust before painting , the turndown is just under the edge of the bumper and you have to be lookingfor it to see it, its awesome, ill get pics of the install tomorrow...

Re: ek sleeper... top mount, back door IC, and A/C....
everything has been driving great, i really enjoy this car and i haven't even gotten to get on it yet... there are a couple of rattles to address on the interior that seem to be coming from the motor mount inserts, as expected, and i think im gonna throw a little dynamat in there to help mask some of the road noise... my last car was an accord and it was a much smoother car as far as interior noise goes, but i'll get it how i want it...
just a poser shot, not to low, but still looks lowered...
here is some stealth... what intercooler????
3" mandrel bent exhaust tucked up nice...
and here is the turndown exhaust...
this is what you see from the outside... nothing...

Looks good man. Yes inserts will make noises seem to appear from nowhere. Typically all up under the dash. Get's even worse when you switch to a full billet mount. Plus you have to remember these are old cars now. Great work though. Get us some numbers soon.

Re: ek sleeper... top mount, back door IC, and A/C....
went to the dyno today and did some tuning... we were having issues out of the boost solenoid, but im still happy w/ todays progress... we went thru each line and made 28 pulls on the car, at 10psi, the car made 275whp... we plan to go to 20psi or so and use AEM water/meth injection... never touched the meth inj at all as we were out of time... A/F looked great and my friend did a very maticulous job tuning and i really learned alot...
we'll get this boost solenoid worked out and take it back to see what comes out of it... i am very pleased w/ the results so far... more to come...
on the street the car rips!!! pulls strong through 9000 rpm's, and feels very tight, traction bars do there job and all of my hard work has paid off... thanks for looking h-t

Re: ek sleeper... top mount, back door IC, and A/C....
no real updates... we got the methanol working, but its been wet here for the last week so testing has pretty much been out of the picture... i have been chasing some rattles in the interior and slowly but surely im getting them... ive put 13-1400 uneventful miles on it so far... i have been trying to figure a way to put a thermostat in the upper radiator outlet on the head because i eliminated the bypass hose from the intake back to the original thermostat housing, thus eliminating anyway to heat the thermostat... i used a flow restrictor w/ a 19mm hole in it and the temperature will stay down, under 200* but it takes FOR-EV-ER to heat up... i bought a meizer inline thermostat housing and plan on welding it to a modified water neck... ill post pics next week when i get it hooked up...

Re: ek sleeper... top mount, back door IC, and A/C....
so my latest hurdle has been overcoming the lack of a thermostat... i eliminated the bypass hose because i didnt like the way it looked, and in hind site realized that i f'ed up because i had nothing to heat the thermostat up, so i went to a flow restrictor... that was all right, but the temp would slowly creep and it took forever to warm up... what i needed was a thermostat AFTER the coolant had gone through the engine, and such a device doesn't exist... so i decided to build one... i bought a thermostat housing from meizer, sp?, its designed to go in the upper radiator hose, but that would look bad, so i cut the inlet off as well as the outlet on the upper water housing and welded them together... this gave me a way the hold the thermostat, i initially installed it this way, but the car would overheat until the thermostat heated up, its still a little outside of the head a little and w/ no water flowing across... so, i drilled a 5/16" hole in it to allow it to bypass a little water so that it would flow some water allowing the thermostat to open... so far this is working perfect...
