Default Fuel cuts when full boost?

I think i'm getting fuel cuts when i reach full boost cause it throws me forward when it cuts. What could be causing it? Car is street tuned by John Vega on 16lb. 560 dsm injectors, walbro 255, fpr reads 30psi at idle, aem wideband shows 13-13.8 idle but havent paid attention to it under full boost, t3/t4 .48 .62 turbo. Only cuts under wot full boost, but if i ease on it 80% throttle it doesnt do it.

It sounds like you're peaking past 16PSI. Turn your boost controller down.

Can it be that the bov is too tight? Cause i readjusted it for the sound. And turning down the boost wont cause it to run rich right?

Yeah i have an autometer but i dont pay attention to it when i wot cause the rpm goes up real quick, plus its really hard to tell if it goes past 16psi cause by the time i reach full boost, i will be doing like 70 or 80

Ok found the problem. Just did a quick pull and notice my boost level went to 17psi and then it cuts, so I assume i have a faulty wastegate??

Or you don't have the wastegate plumbed correctly. Or you have a shitty manifold. Or you have a shitty wastegate. It's called boost creep. There are a number of things that can cause it.

Sounds like a set ignition or fuel cut, probably built into your tune

Just contacted my tuner and he said its built in with the ecu to protect from overboosting. I have a turbo xs wastegate with a dump tube but its on a pos ebay manifold. Dont flame me but could i run a wastegate on the intake side also?

No. A properly designed manifold would probably fix your creep issues. See how your wastegate is only on the #1 runner? It should be somewhere that it covers all of the runners. Alternatively, if you're too broke and/or too much of a cheapskate to get a real manifold, turn your boost pressure down. If you're set to 16 and it's creeping to 17, set it to 15 and let it creep to 16. Done.

Just turn the boost down for now and watch the boost gauge.

Your motor is tuned UP TO 16 psi.

It will run fine if its set lower.. Unless your tuner did a crap job.

I dont want to mess with the controller cause its a manual one which is confusing and hard cause its not electronic. I'm just not gonna go full boost until i get a new manifold. I'm looking at this ebay cast manifold with the wastegate port in the middle of all 4 runners, would this be better?

Your BOV was probably leaking some. You either have to turn the boost down or put the BOV back the way it was.

A new manifold is going to require a retune, just fix the boost!

I thought a bov doesn't affect boost creep and I know i need a retune but was wondering would the type of manifold with the wastegate port in the middle of all four runners.instead of one help stop the creep?

check your wg. i was having same issue a while back. end up being wg not opening at full boost pressure, it'll spiked 1-2 psi past boost pressure then cut off. tried a friend's wg and it open at full boost pressure, problem solved.

I would but the little adjusting screw at the top is stripped so if i mess with it anymore it will pop out. Or be way too loose, right now it's not leaking any boost so that's good
