Default Edlebrock d16y8 fit d16z6?

Would an edlebrock turbo kit made for d16y8 fit a d16z6? My friend desperatly needs to know this.. the only difference i know is that the intake mani is better on the y8?
can anyone help me out here, its a killer deal but only for the y8 kit
I hear the wiring to the fmu is different, then also hear sumthing about extening a charge pipe? if it can fit what involvoed and is it worth it to make these adjustments thx

I believe the edelbrock kits come with their own intake manfold...

Damn i cant even find a site which carries the edlebrock kit and infromation regarding this.......Guys if someone can please fill me in and send a link this would be amazing.....I know the 2 engines are very similar but i have to know what is involved if u want to use a y8 turbo kit on a z6 engine Pleez and thx u!

I can't imagine why it wouldn't fit. The GReddy SOHC kit is designed for the D16Z6 yet it bolts up to the Y8 perfectly.

here is what the kit includes.......im so sure it would fit but its alot of money to waste if it doest. and the kit sounds killer!!

Garrett T28 ball bearing Turbo preassembled with exhaust manifold and elbow, including coolant and oil lines


Performer X manifold preassembled with secondary fuel rail and four additional injectors


State-of-the-art electronics to control boosted fuel and timing


Preassembled Russell fuel and oil lines with adapters


Large Spearco intercooler with TIG welded cast aluminum end tanks


Tial blow-off valve
Edelbrock boost gauge by Auto Meter with A-pillar mount pod


Ceramic coated Turbo piping and high flow air filter


All gaskets, adapters and instructions


O-ring sealed compressor inlet/outlet pipe flanges

only difference may be in fuel rails but it should be a direct swap issue

the edelbrock kit comes with a new intake manifold. The coolant passage into the head from the intake manifold is round on a y8 engine and is square on a z6 engine. I would think if you tried to install it, you would have a serious coolant leak.

The coolant thing is no big deal. The intake gasket that comes with the kit will work on a Z6 as well as a Y8. The round passage is just about the same size as the square one.

I posted other info in the similar thread in the civic forum.

The main issue will be intercooler. Since there isn't as much room as a 92-95 civic. Its easy to fit a Z6 intercooler to a Y8, but more difficult the other way around.
