Edelbrock Victor X ... Which TB and Size are you using
I just purchased a Victor X and i was curious if i could get a 2 answers without being bashed or ignorant to
1. How big is the throttle body opening on the manifold? ... i have not received it?
2. Does it make sense to use a 65mm because 2.5 inch's which is the intercooler piping is 63.5mm ..... or should i go with a different sized.. i was told by a knowledegable and repuable shop who is a sponsor on this website to go with a 68mm... im not naming who..
but overall, everyone who is running turbo with a victor X what size Throttle Body are you using..

68mm is a good size for 2.5in piping. You will need to take into consideration the thickness of the throttle plate and add that to your overall diameter.

It makes sense to upsize the TB over the piping bc the throttle plate is more restrictive than piping of the same diameter. However its minor. I run a 76/78mm RPM TB on my Edelbrock and 2.75" charge piping.

Re: Edelbrock Victor X ... Which TB and Size are you using
Hey everyone, thanks alot for your answers.. i am leaning towards the 68 mm after i was recommended it by Roland at MB racing... and i was also leaning towards the brand POWER (profession products) mainly because of the price, and because of the looks, its nice an polished..
BUT I HAVE ONE MORE QUESTION...
The other one i was looking at is the Omni 68mm throttle body, tapered to 70mm and its only 99.99 shipped, where the POWER is 68mm all through for about 140ish give or take (i believe 120 shipped through MBRacing).. i like the power because of the looks, and the omni because of the tapered .. now one last question, with the omni throttle body being tapered make much of a difference over the POWER? ... just curious.. im a little torn on what to get, the thing holding me back from the omni is the stock look, yes it is a good idea, but i really like how the POWER is Polished... idk i will make a decision soon.. but if if were up to you, which one would you go with? and is the tapered from 68-70 better/worse/ or the same as the regular 68mm all the way through..
thank you very much .. thanks

I'm using a 76mm on my Victor X, that was on boost though, for my N/A setup I will most likely use a 68 or a 70

I say it all up to how you want your engine bay to look. Shinny or stock. I can see you want shinny. But I feel that the omni will be able to yield more power because it will let in more air. Even tho the diffrence is very little numbers don't lie. I think you should go for the polished one. You might only be giving up 5 hp over all for the look you really want.

Re: Edelbrock Victor X ... Which TB and Size are you using
i ended up going with the 68mm power .. roland at mbracing kinda talked me into it, he said its my best bet, i mentioned the omni throttle body and i mentioned the 70mm he said 68 is your best bet trust me.. so i trusted him and went with it.. im sure everything will be fne.. better then stock lol.. he said the omni one is 70mm on the outside, but tapers to 68 on the inside into the manifold so really its not no difference .. dont quote me on that but thats what i got out of what he said about the omni throttle body.. but i was going to go with that one.. but im happy with my purchase.
