Default Edelbrock Turbo Kits

For the B16, does this look to be a real good kit? From its components and specs, it looks pretty solid to me. I heard it uses the "disco potato" turbo? Its internal wastegated correct?

Any reasons not to get this kit when it comes out?

Lastly, could the piggy back engine management system supplied with the kit be a substitute for hondata?

Thanks

Yes the kit will work well on the b16, those bb t28 will make awesome power with great spool times, and yes they are internal wastegates....you definetly could just get hondata and like 450's or 550's and bigger fuel pump and ditch the whole fuel mgt and second set of injectors they use....you would be able to run more boost and make even more power safer

Anyone else?

Also whats the difference between the T28 and T28R? Is the T28R = GT28R?

What size injectors are with the kit? Couldnt I just use those with a Hondata?

yeah i just heard about these kits too and was wondering about the quality on them as well. my friend was telling me that they are better than the greddy turbo kits but i am kind of skeptical. does anyone have any insight into these kits? i want to boost but power isn't my main concern. i want turbo hp and i want reliability. from what i have been reading greddy is a safe bet that i am going to go with and scrap the e-manage and go with a hondata. but my friend was just telling me that these edelbrock kits are good.

here is a link to the kit: it says that it is 50 state legal even with an intercooler and tial bov. http://www.edelbrock.com/autom....html

from what i've read about them, it looks to be a solid kit to me.

has everything u need, and the company hasnt been known for making low quality products (as far as manifolds cracking, or **** breaking down.)

they are way too much money for what you get. Their fuel management is ridiculous. 8 injectors.....BAH!

If you are going to get a kit, i would probably suggest first the revhard and then the drag kit. I would probably end up buying the drag kit b/c you get everything you need and even a hondata(BLAH) for $3200 shipped to your door. and that is w/ the a tial wg and such. all in all not a bad prefab kit. if you dont want to spend the time and money for tuning, dont buy it w/ the hondata and get an AFC or even smarter decision would be to use Turboedit or Uberdata

yeah they are fifty state street legal even with the intercooler and the tial bov. i am considering this kit or the greddy. i am just wondering if it is as reliable as the greddy kit.

What are you people high on? You're using Greddy as the standard?!!? Greddy is BARELY even a turbo kit. It's air cooled. It doesn't come with an IM. It doesn't come with a boost controller. It doesn't come with an intercooler. The piggyback is a POS. Yeah, it gets the job done. It's cheap. But it by no means is something by which to judge real turbo kits by, like the Edelbrock.

we are not using greddy as a standard by any means. all we are doing is asking about comparing the two from someone who knows about the quality of the edelbrock kit. the reason why it's greddy that made it into this discussion instead of say a revhard or a drag is because they are both fifth state carb legal. that's all hope you weren't offended by our conversation.
