Default Edelbrock turbo kit vs. Drag 3 kit for civic

I have already posted once about this but wanted to get an opionion from a few different people. I want to get a turbo kit for my 2000 civic ex and am debating between the edelbrock kit and the drag kit. The edelbrock kit comes with an intake manifold and tiel blowoff valve and wastegate where as the drag kit comes with a delta wastegate. The edelbrock kit comes with a garret t25 turbo charger and the drag with I think a t3/t4. Also the edelbrock kit is emissions legal. The edelbrock kit puts out 176 whp and I do not know about the drag kit. The edelbrock kit is $3500 and the drag kit is $2800. What do you guys think???

The edelbrock kit is better quality.....drag would probably put down better numbers.

I would probably go with the edelbrock kit.

It can make more then 176 whp with more boost.

Do you think the stock clutch will hold up. Also do you think by using an msd ignition and wires I will benefit at all???

depends on how much power you are putting out...either way the stock clutch will go very very faster

I'd say it depends on what kind of #s your looking for. And yea your clutch wont last long. I personally would say drag. Edelebrock is alot of $ to only put down 176whp.

The edelbrock kit does not come with an external wastegate. It uses the internal wastegate that comes with the t28 turbocharger.

boostsohfast has a greddy kit and he said he has a buddy that has a drag kit and he'll **** on his friend all day.

About the clutch issue: Mine lasted about a month after turbo install :-P. I suggest upgrading shortly after the turbo. I went with an ACT HDSS. Feels good so far. Once its broken in all the way I'll take it to the track and see if I can pull some mid 14s on 5 psi. This is on a greddy kit read sig. Oh and if you want an ACT HDSS go to Kteller8. I got mine for 315 shipped from him.

i like how complete the edelbrock kit is, but i think the drag kit, will make more power.

but pesonaly, i'd recommend building your own kit, with your preferred parts. and build it towards your goals, whether it be for 1/4 mile, daily driving etc...

oh and dont forget the fuel management.

Greddy or Edlebrock for driveability

Drag for more power than you need on the street

The only thing that I do not like about the Edlebrock kit is the fact that it comes with 4 additional injectors on the underside of the intake, when they could have just given you 4 correctly sized injectors for the regular mounting positions.

the extra injectors are ****, but...they had to do it for emissions

either way, none of these kits are the best. custom, i feel, is by far the best. you can have more power and more options for less money

Nothing wrong with extra injectors....they are used all over the place. The problem with larger injectors is its pretty difficult to tune low rpm's with them. Usual result is a crappy idle quality. Its also how the E.O. was possible. If you don't care about emissions, get the open-track kit, which will be out at the end of the year.

The kit is a true bolt-on, and requires zero tuning, since the piggyback is already tuned for the stock engine and 7 psi. There's enough room in the tuneup to use a manual boost controller and run 9psi. Titan Motorsports is selling kits for $3100 shipped in the sponsor marketplace.
