Edelbrock turbo kit......Compressor surge !!
H ey what's up, I finished installing my turbo kit this week, and having some trouble with it, appearently i'm having a compressor surge...as soon as i start it you hear that sound.......chhh chhhc ccchhh chhhhaaaa...non stop, took it for a spin, when i step on it...the car hesitates and doesnt wanna go.....now i dont think it's the vacuum line, it has its own line tapped into the performer x intake manifold...but could it be that the tial BOV is to stiff, i remember before installing it, i was playing with it trying to push the valve down and it was pretty damn hard, i had to force to get that thing open. Could that be one of the reasons ?? Is the tial bov adjustable ??
Another problem, i'm having is the idle, it's idling pretty high, I bought this kit second hand praticly brand new, there was already a few components installed from the previous car, like the idle motor ( which i installed onto my car, could that be one of the reasons why it's idling high like that, and when i rev it a little, when the rpm needle comes down it sort of goes up a little and comes back to regular position...soo some help with that would be really aprreciated
I removed my spark plugs just to see how they were after the test drive...they were all black ..would this be caused from the compressor surge or what ??
Really discouraged here!!
Thanks !!

Not your BOV, they are stiff. Sounds like your having other issues. You won't have compressor surge at idle, unless you are boosting.... which i doubt.

Re: (Offer)
sounds liek you hooked some of the vaccume lines up incorrectly. you mught want to re-go over your lines. i wonder if your WG is routed wrong and the bov as well.

Ok I disconnected the charge pipe going into the intercooler, and the chhhhc hhhc hhhc hhh sound went away, and the turbo pushing alot of air, so the turbo is still good. Now i'm still running rich as hell, we diconnected the line going through the edelbrock injectors and routed a fuel line straight from the fuel filter to the stock fuel rail and it's still dumping **** load of fuel, i dont see how this could be a wiring problem because the link managment doesnt control the stock fuel injection.....could anyone give me some input on what could be wrong
