ECU Socketing difference between Uberdata and Hondata?
 

I've searched on this but with no luck. I am trying to find out if the socketing methods are different for a hondata and uberdata system. I am planning on going with uberdata, but I was curious to know if I can swap a hondata sytem in there one day. Is there a difference between the socketing on a hondata / uberdata ECU? Thanks

hondata just uses a box that connects to the cn2 port on the board. without having it hooked up, a hondata burnt chip will not work. its the same port that uberdata users use to datalog

but the chip goes in the same place, everything is the same except for that. i recenly tuned a what used to be hondata chipped car to use uberdata. all i did was unplug the blue box and burn uberdata on the 29c256 that used to have hondata on it https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

thanks for the info, so I guess I can go get my ECU socketed for "hondata" and then just use uberdata instead, so this way I have the capability of using hondata in the future. correct me if I got that wrong.

Yes you can use hondata in the future but honestly why would you want too. I had hondata before uberdata and I would def recommend uber. Simily because it is the samething though hondata gives you no support at all.

yep hondata only takes one more component than uberdata to make it work. So when you "Socket" the ecu it will accept any externam rom. But hondata just uses the cn2 ports to run and emulate, just like any other programs datalogging.

there is one other small difference, hondata ecus require you to cut jumper j12, uber you do not. This is only for datalogging. If you need your ecu socketed don't pay more than $50, if it will be more than that PM or email me, I do them for $50shipped, for either hondata or uber/crome. Only thing is i'm not taking any more orders until january 18th...

J12 just messes with the duplex mode. And being able to scan for codes and junk. Hondata does require it to be cut, but it also does work without cutting it.
