Re: E85 stations across the USA
Just paid $3.44 for a gallon of E85 while 93 octane is $3.79. In the last year it has went up over a $1.25 and my thinking is that eventually it will be a custom fuel because the price of corn is over $7.40 a bushell. We are burning are food supply , The town I live in is in the center of the "corn belt" we have the largest ethanol plant ever built and it has yet to come on line and the 3 companies that tryed have all went bankrupt. it would require like 10% of US corn to run profitable. It was a great idea to get price of corn up. But has got to stop before we cant afford food. Yes I run E85, and think we need to stop useing corn to produce it... Like everyone says it is alot cheaper than race fuel.

I feel that the corn used in e85 reprents the corn that would go to waste in stores or the corn that is not acceptable to sell when harvested.

I use the same iPhone app "Fueled with Pride" and it works well. I have my NA Honda race car and my DD Evo running on E85. I love the stuff.

Re: E85 stations across the USA
According to some guys I know that run it here in ny won't b true e85 until like April/May. I'm just gonna have a tune for both blends and test it before running it, u can still make decent power with the 70% blend if u tune for it. My cars at synapse now, I'll post whp differences between the two blends in a couple days, luckily I scored 5 gal of 85% to tune with

Re: E85 stations across the USA
The E85 government subsidy aka (farmer welfare) will be up in December. The fed. welfare check and the tariff is 1.40 per gallon. It doesn't sound like the gov. is going to renew this form of welfare seems how the price of corn has increased by 400% since it was put into place.
Might want to buy ethanol before Dec.

Re: E85 stations across the USA
I show up to the usual station (5 miles). Bagged. Drive the the normal backup (4 more miles). Pumps are gone. Drive downtown (12 miles in traffic). Bagged. Guy turns pump on so I can get 2 gallons. Drive south (5 miles). Line of wrxs, evos, and turbo hondas! Was a nice little car meet waiting in line for the last e85 pump in town that night.
I normally have to drive 10 miles or 12 miles. Opposite directions which is nice but they are both east of me. My usual station has terrible management and won't order more e85. If I want fuel for a trip into the mountains I need to plan on a minimum 30 minute detour.

Re: E85 stations across the USA
I am no fuel expert and I understand why all the high horsepower guys are using it, but my question is can any regular car off the showroom floor like say a " Chevy Malibu " can use this e85 or no it's made as a replacement for race gas..?

DO IT ON ALL FOURS
Re: E85 stations across the USA
Has anyone noticed the recent increase in E85 cost? It is almost as much as 87 octane around me. It is still just cheap enough with the MPG loss to be justified over 93 though (assuming your setup can be ran on gas).
