E-boost controller install
Ok, so im more of a mechanic than an electrician, so i need help. I got my e-boost controller and i started to install it, i got my guage custom mounted in my cluster bezel thing and i ran the grey and brown wires to my solenoid, and i understand the power and ground, but do i need the dimmer (yellow wire)? and what about running the rest of the wires, i think they are the ones for the switches... i dunno.. help.
p.s. i have already downloaded the catalog from turbosmart.com but that didnt go into detail about running the switches or whatever. |
Re: E-boost controller install (turbodohcsi)
if you really would like it to dim you can tie it in with your dimmer switch but for "the other wires i have no clue what you are talking about more info if you want help

Re: E-boost controller install (imptricer)
yeah, i knew that was coming. i will try and get some pictures. But basically there are yellow, green and white wires coming from the gauge and i believe they are for switches... but i dunno. And then there is like two relays with blue and red wires cominf from them. And one relay has what looks to be factory wires with pins and labels like a5, b12 taped to them.

Re: E-boost controller install (turbodohcsi)
how isnt the wiring diagram answering your questions????
|
well i mean wireing just the boost controller is easy, i understand that, and its done. But it doesnt really explain how to use the switches and what the other relays are for.

Re: (turbodohcsi)
maybe post your qeustion in the tech/mich thread and in the title say what system you need help with

Re: (turbodohcsi)
unless someone knows this product, hard to picture what you're trying to do.. post a scan of that manual/directions and then mention what you're not sure about

Re: E-boost controller install (turbodohcsi)
It clearly says what these wires are for in the instruction manual.
Yellow is an RPM input. This info is on pg 9. The Orange and Green wires are used in conjunction with one another to select a different 'boost group'. There's a table on pg 24 that details which wire (or both, or none) connected to ground selects which boost group. And on pg 25 begins the explanation of what each boost group does functionally. It's not so obvious via their schematic what the White wire does...but their wording does tell you. It's an auxilary output that is grounded via boost and rpm parameters. It even tells you to use special 'resistive relays' on this output. You can find this info on pg 20. |
Re: E-boost controller install (EE_Chris)
I've spoken to them through e-mail and they replied quickly with detailed helpful info, you should give them a call or e-mail.

ok, could you link me to that manual, because i didnt not download half of those instructions you just gave me ee_chris. I guess i downloaded like the introduction chapter or something.

Re: (turbodohcsi)
It lists both quickstart and complete user manuals here: http://www.turbosmart.com.au/index.php?s=downloads
And send a note to Mark@turbosmart.com.au with your questions, he sent me some diagrams about how the switches work. |
