DYNOED by ME! d16y8, MORE TQ than HP!!! smc doesn't work good????
Ok before i get to the graphs, i want to ask zip why the smc doesn't really work that well... i tried changing a certain rpm setting to richer but it stays the same level, it's annoying me... if you notice the a/f graph from 1st run to last, it's just shifted up, i can't get it smooth...
in other news,, holy ****, **** hp, look at my TQ... pretty nice and i get more tq than most SOHC VTEC's!! i usually see 135-140 tq and more hp but i got 150tq!!! i don't know why i can't get more hp, after the a/f was tuned to somewhere near 12.5 or so, it stayed the same the hp.. no gains whatsoever..
the guy said it was my small intercooler... i think that's a prob plus the timing is retarded about 8 deg... anyhow, i think my next project will be aem standalone + wideband.... other wise, not bad for a 1200$$ project... i smoke many cars with this power!
yeah about 7psi near redline... i run 8 at lower rpms... best i can get.. i don't want to push it more.
any idea how i can fix up my a/f better??? is it ok?? i'm scared of that spike
some pics of my car.. total sleeper. even stock hubcaps... muffler is black.. only thing is lowering visable and maybe BOV sounds.
NO that *** is not mine!
Yeah that's me.

maybe its something with your installation, because my SMC gives me a nice flat line of a/f ratio.

the drops in hp and the lean spikes in the afr makes it seems like you might be running too rich between 3.5k-4k rpm and 4.5k-5k rpm.
here's an example of what can happen if you're running so rich and mis-firing, the afr will get fooled into thinking it's running leaner.
make sure that you can feel the power delivery is smooth. sometimes the engine can misfire for a split second and you can miss that easily.

Re: (safe driver)
it didn't give misfire code though
although i do feel around 3500rpm it's slight hesitation.......
well i'll try this, i had it set at -35 straight accross from 3k on so if i set my 3.5k to -35 it should be normal... maybe i'll richen up 3k since i think i set it at pretty lean... **** this is dangerous doing without dyno
and how is it possible you can get a graph straight on smc?

well if you richen it up and the hesitation is still there, check your plugs. if thy're black then you're running too rich and the hesitation is problably the engine misfiring.
also try leaning it out a percentage or two. nothing too drastic. and check to see if the hesitation is still there. then check your plugs again.
try lowering the retard also. 8 seems to be too much. i'm only running 4-5 degrees retarded with a msd digital6.

Re: (safe driver)
i just dyno tuned my car myself too wow!
You can see my baseline was pretty good especially after v-tech, then i kicked it into high gear with a better air fuel ratio and got 197 hp, but i think i blew something because run 3 went sour.
Mad Vtech yo!!!! Yah!
On a more serious note, it looks pretty good, but you look a little too rich in some spots on the graph.

Re: (exospeedAMcrx)
most of the time, small turbo allow really quick spool up. which makes quick torque.
since there are alot of restrictions like intercooler being small etc, makes torque more than hp.
do you have stock exhaust?
backpressure = torque. sounds like you have alot of it.

Re: (boostedrotary)
A smaller sized turbocharger will make peak power lower in the RPM band, showing up as higher torque numbers! One reason you really dont see higher torque numbers than HP on a honda, is because usually you think of a honda motor as a dual overhead cam vtec, which make a reletively high torque/hp ratio, ala S2000.

I agree with the comments above... I guess my concern is.. ya theres lots of torque but is the complete setup EFFICIENT.

Re: (eh6turbo)
doesn't the hack require at least 8 deg since it advances timing?? don't we all do that???
yes i run smc 500.... i'm really **** now cuz it's missing at 3000 rpm or so.. i think that lean spike is actually rich.... i dunno i'm going to set that area back to 35 and see wtf is happening

OMG!! 8 degrees of timing retard at the dizzy!!???? That's waaaaaaaaaaaay much!
3 degrees should be more than sufficient if you're running colder plugs and good gas. 8 degrees and you're running AWFULLY hot not to mention you must backfire like crazy with all that unspent fuel burning off in the exahust.

because it's SOHC design.
