Default dynoed a customers b20/vtec today=443whp

we went out to see ed in atlanta today to dyno dane hopkins' car.it is a 90 model hatch with a b20/vtec.i built the engine for him and it is pretty much stock internals minus eagle rods and weisco pistons.we used a larger turbo and injectors and made 443whp & 316 torque 7400rpm & 20psi boost.it made 350whp on the first pull at 6500rpm!there is no doubt that it would easily make 500+ if we weren't afraid to turn it a little higher because it still has the stock balance and drivetrain. we had trouble with boost creep because of wastegate location and could not make any less than 20 psi.we are going to fix the creep problem next week and go back to tweek it out a little.over all,we are pretty stoked about it.at 2100lbs,this thing is going to be a monster!

oh yeah,i forgot to mention, this was done on the e-bay turbo manifold y'all hate so much.he already had it,so we figured we would try it.the wastegate placement is the source of the creep,so we are going to take it off of the manifold and locate it off of the downpipe flange(inline with the ported hole on the turbine housing) and go back to tweek it out a little.we will probably keep it around 400 whp to keep it together.

WOW nice numbers

My stock B20 overboosted to 20psi and blew after one 3rd gear pull, but I had stock pistons/rods. Not trying to scare you or anything. The car will be an animal though!

Yeh that boost creep is absolutely horrible. Let us know how it works out when u change the wastegate set up. nice work. maybe people will realize that a 57 trim is not "that" small. hehe

wow thats just nasty. lol i love it. ed wouldnt take my motor past 12 psi on a stock bottom end. but i think i could have gotten close to 400 out of a stock block but that would have been pushing it. my friend peter dynoed at 440 on stock block b18c1 with a t3-60 turbo on one of those OBX tubular manifolds. it creeped up to 440 lol. that wasnt expected. so i know my stock block could have handled it at least once. great job man awesome numbers

I'm hoping everyone who pushes the .63 (nickname LAG) housing is noticing the resulting #'s!

::all bow down and praise the .48:::

Nice #'s, but how long are those sleeves going to last. B20 sleeves are known for being very weak. Good job though for goin for it.

This was my car that Turbo Type R built. Took it out for a spin last night, whew! Still needs some tweaking but Danny has built a monster! By the way, it has hondata fuel management and 750 holley injectors with a altered AEM fuel rail. Looks like this car will be fun for someone. Danny is going to start on our 03 SI after I get some funds together from this hatch. Nice going Danny for building & Ed for the tuning.
