Dyno'd stock Crvtec Turbo today...
Today I finally had time to dyno my car, yesterday it sat at the track like a little bitch in the corner that stored coolers & food. :
sad sad....
As expected, I hit my goal, a tad over 300whp. 306whp / 228tq running 12psi on pump gas.
It took 18 passes on the dyno to get this ****** tuned, Nick lopez helped me out working with my fuel map, it took almost 15% more fuel than the LS/vtec map I had made. I'm thinking its time for a new set of injectors...
Overall, I'm really happy, the car ******* rips incredibly hard. Traction... well there is none. The lag of the .63 housing is nice, but I still need a bigger compressor IMO. The spark map is very friendly, so not worried about detonation, also installed my walbro 255 back in.
I dont think I'm gonna drag this car again, maybe.. My goals are almost done 12sec/300whp daily driver, and a 10sec/400hp race car.

I would expect higher numbers off 12psi, maybe throw on a .57 trim comp on there and you will be happier. Especially with the bore you got.

Re: (Sonny)
Stock b20 sleeves still scare me, reguardless if they are posted/guarded etc.. I'll keep her right here at a tad over 300. People always expect more and more, I'm satisified, its a fun ride with a 300whp 2000lb crx.
Just curious but who has the highest Hp at the wheels with a B18/B20 stock rod?
Oh, and this is for you sonny,
This van had caught fire before hand... melted the paint, carb, all the wiring, everything, lol.... I just slapped a new carb on it, and wrapped the wires up, hahahaha
Studed snow tires in June? wtf.... I'm a cheap bastard
Enjoy

Very respectable numbers for a "stock" block. I'm thinking/about to buy a SC61 with .63 AR and T04S housing and I was wondering how quickly you hit full (12psi) boost so I have a basis to go off of. Thanks.

Ah yes, I would really like to use the SC61 as well, in fact as soon as this turbo dies (which it almost is) I am going to buy one. I start making good boost around 3800ish rpms.
If you do get one, let me know how it works out for you.

We've got almost the same turbo setup and making about the same numbers...you're making more HP than I am at 12psi, but I'm making more torque than you are...weird....what kind of exhaust are you running?

now educate me.... imstill learning honda
b20 is the crv engine and crvtec is th addes gsr head?
LS/VTEC or crvtec whatever, seems choice cuase you get that LS torque and the long VTEC powerband.
my quesiton is.... i hear lsvtec is unreliable, what is the weak point? im guessing its either tunig or the re routing of oil lines to the gsr head for vtec
anyways nice crx, once im done with my golf, i would def wanna build like a EG hacth w/ls/vtec/60-1
nice setup

It as reliable as the person setting it up. Yes the lines can leak it not done right, tuning helps, and sometimes people demolish the stock rod bolts.

Crvtec is using a B20b/z bottom end and a B16a/B18c head (vtec)

Yup, the torque is nice, but I think another reason people do it, is because its alot cheaper than buying a full on B18c1. Its kind of a poormans Vtec.

Ls/vtec's get a bad rap because alot of people really dont know what they are doing, Kids with B18a's that have 180k mile slap on a B16a head and rev the **** out of them with a PR3 ecu (not correct ecu) and they wonder why they go bad? First off you need to use a Vtec oil pump GSR/B16a/ITR. Then use proper fuel/spark engine management, get it tuned with a wideband so everything is good to go. I also recommend using a main girlde on the bottom end. The B18a/b & B20b/z's dont have the best R/S ratio for the "Vtec" rev's... they werent designed to spin 8500rpms all day long like a B16a. So longevity is out of the question for sure. But people have had great sucsess with ls/vtecs & B20's. They are basically the same setup, but the B20 has a larger bore size (84mm) where it gets its displacement. The B20 also has larger sleeves than the b18, but they are weaker due to the 1 piece cast design.
Thanks guys,
Jeff

Jeff your the ******* man I love seeing some people around this area represent in a good way. Well I'm taking my car to c-speed for some hondata after I get some 550cc injectors installed along with a fuel pump, my goal is 300whp as well. Did you get that dynoed at lil monsters? Jesse my bud I think holds the 2nd place there for whp by a honda not sure though? He made 227whp@9psi and was able to turn in 13.5@109mph with 17's and super shitty tires, I think he'll hit 12's this summer.
