Default Dyno #'s and First time track times------Turbo GSR

pics of the car on page 2

Comparison to my old setup (60trim, log manifold, 2.5" dp and exhast on 9psi)

On a conservative tune at 10psi, the car made 306.1whp and 208.2ft/lbs

I ran at the track w/ both drag radials and street tires....sadly, i did better w/ the street tires because i'm not too good at launching the radials yet.... I'm also not very consistant yet because i was trying different launches and different RPM ranges on the launch just to see what's better for my car and setup...

Another thing, the first run, my fastest run was my first time at a track....ever

The track was starting to warm up and the wait between runs was getting long so we decided to call it quits for the day. Also, my buddy Andrew, who was taking pictures of my car all day, was getting pretty burnt under the sun so we headed in...

Overall i'm pretty happy with the setup and the power, but i wanted a little faster track times....its a 12 sec car w/ a 14 second driver

Times looks really good for your first time! Do you have a dif? What about traction bars or motor mounts/inserts?

I can only hope my times are as good when I finally get to the track. I have yet to run it...so we'll see.

I think with some practice you'll solidly be in the 12s. Care to share any of your launch details? I'm trying to get an idea of where to start.

You sumumabitch, you're putting my old drag radials to shame.

How much tire pressure were you running on the BFG's?

114mph trap = you've got a TON of room to grow. I'll be buying slicks soon if you'd like to rent them

Nice. You should be in 12's easy when you figure out those drag radials. I can't wait till my gs-r turbo EK gets tuned here in a week or so.

You are FLYING down the track man, just get outta the hole and you'll be 12s all day long.

What PSI were the radials at?
Were you preloading them?
What RPM were you launching at, FTL or no?

are you letting of throttle to early? i do'nt know how your gearing is and where you at near finish line, your trap speed should be pretty consistant and closer to 114 if you're not letting of throttle too early

They were at whatever PSI Fnan gave them to me at....the pressure was WAY to high though. I was preloading them, but i was having a hard time since i hadn't ever raced before AND i hadn't ever preloaded before...lol...i was usually launching at around 5500-6500rpm but they were spinning because the pressure was too high

Stock diff, no traction bars, i have inserts, but they're not in yet so that doesn't help either....

For the launch, i was launching hard on my street tires because i'm more familiar with how to do it....i was bogging the radials a little and i think i had too much tire pressure in them.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by spectacle &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">those 60ft's are KILLING you!</TD></TR></TABLE>

I agree...lol...i was trying to get them down, but couldn't figure out the launch.

I did have a problem with that because the end on the track isn't marked very clearly and my brakes REALLY need to get lathed....they are so warped which made it hard to slow down from 115mph....

Yeah I gave them to you at the tire pressure you should run them at on the street.

When you take them to the track, you should run like 15-20 psi max.

Definitely a good start. Get those 60' down and you'll be moving pretty quick. What type of suspension is in the car?

Right now it has Skunk2 sleeve-over suspension, but the shocks in the rear are really worn out...i'm getting new Tokicos soon so no worries...

At least your honest! Just keep going out and practicing, you'll go faster. At your power level you would love a small set of slicks

Just for everyone to know...i tuned on Friday at 430pm so after i was done, they just closed up shop and haven't been open yet. I'm going to call tomorrow (monday) morning and have the graphs emailed to me, but if they can't do it tomorrow, i'll take a few pictures of the paper copies i have...

Thanks for all the positive responses...i'm going to keep practicing on this car and see what kind of times i can post next time there's a track day...June 9th is the next one i plan to attend...

We have generally have the same thing going on. My best so far is in my sig. 13.1 at 110. It is cool to see that you hit 114 though, that is bookin. Work on the launchs. I have only been to the strip a few times as well. I need some crankcase ventallation very soon. Good luck and be safe!

114 is rolling nicely.

on my drag radials i run 10 psi pressure and make sure to do a nice long burnout. i never had real good 60fts, but i ran a consistant 2.0x for the second half of the summer

I think if i can get the launch down and hit a 2.0 60' or faster, i should be able to get into the 12s with a little practice...i'm hoping i can, but its fun to just go to the track and try...

You should try some m&h 22's on 13" lenzos. I ran them and it was the only time ive been able to go WOT in 1st/2nd launching at 8000rpm making 350whp. Last weekend I tried to run BFG's and couldn't get out 1st without spinning up top.
