Dyno results - GSR - Drag Gen 3 9 PSI
Friend got his car tuned at Balanced Performance this past weekend. Made 337 WHP / 212 TQ @ 9 PSI. Mod list below.
Eagle Rods
JE Pistons 9:1
81MM Benson Sleeved block
Stock GSR Head
Stock GSR Cams
Stock GSR Cam Gears
Stock Throttlebody
Stock Intake Manifold
Stock Fuel pump
550 CC injectors
3" Thermal
ACT Clutch
Drag Gen3 Turbo Kit
T3/T4 60 and 68 thingys
Baseline run was 312 @ 7000 rpms. Power peaked at 8500. Full boost at around 4000 rpms, give or take a 100 or so rpms. Pretty stout I thought, for pretty much a bolt-on turbo kit on a stock GSR motor.

Oops, forgot to mention the Hondata S200. Its crazy on the street, even in an Integra. Gonna try and get him to take the motor out and put it in an EF.

Re: Dyno results - GSR - Drag Gen 3 9 PSI (Screaminz28)
good numbers but,
1.) its not a stock motor from those mods
2.) needs more boost for a built motor like that

How is it not a stock motor? Besides having stronger internals, it is completely stock. There is no power made in the bottom end of a motor, unless you count displacement, and that is stock. It was tuned on 9 psi just to get it driving. Going back in a month with a boost controller and fuel pump. Gonna throw 25 PSI at it.

Re: (Screaminz28)
That engine is definatly not stock. How could Benson sleeves, lower comp pistons ect ect be considered stock?
Anyways, nice numbers. Im surprised 9:1 compression spit that much out, on a stock fuel pump...
What fuel setupd do you plan to use for 25 psi? Not your 550's for sure.

Do the pistons have P72 casted in them? Are they even cast pistons? Are they the same sleeves that honda put in the block?
Are you feeling ok?
Nice numbers regardless, but that isnt a stock motor. Maybe the top half.

I'll see if I can get him to let me scan the sheet. Yeah, I know 550s won't be good up to 25 psi, but we'll see how high they can go. Run about 65 - 70 psi fp with the vacum off should give a little room. Damn tweezy, when is that car gonna run? Oh yeah, I still have to do your hondata! Haha.

That's mighty impressive numbers for a 9:1 compression. Are you sure it's not 9.8? At 9 PSI? I'd love to see a dyno plot too.
Good Number. to your friend.

How is the motor NOT stock ?? No-- it is NOT stock products - he NEVER said it is...
There is not ONE part on the inside of that motor that MAKES any more power than a STOCK GSR block.. Only LESS compression which yields LESS power... There are NO cams-- and NO portwork and NO boring... Just cause you have "sleeves and pistons" does NOT mean it will make more power.. You guys are weird sometimes !!!
Congrats to GREAT power numbers.. Your gonna want at LEAST 750s for 25 psi to go safely.. Plus-- with stock head and cams your gonna be running out of breathe up top.. Nice work though bro !!!

Re: Dyno results - GSR - Drag Gen 3 9 PSI (BoostedSi)
Drag_On they are stating the fact that that power level wouldn't be reliable on a stock block, its not about power its about safety
You've been hanging out in the all motor forum huh? Turbo Guys get parts to turn up the boost and not raise the compression to make power.

Re: Dyno results - GSR - Drag Gen 3 9 PSI (Screaminz28)
Extremely high numbers for the compression and boost level you are running. That means you are making roughly 21 hp per pound of boost, which means either you arent telling the whole truth about what the engine has done or your running more boost than you are telling everyone. I have tuned a few gsr's, and by far the most impressive was prophet's stock block gsr making 251whp @ 5.5psi. He was making 18 hp per pound of boost, which was directly related to his compressor trim and equal length manifold. I would love to see the dyno graph.
