Dyno results back...seems a too low
I just got off the phone with Kitty at Autolink motorworks, she said my car after tuning was a 175 whp. Does that seem low for this setup:
Stock b16a2
Drag Gen III kit
V-AFC
DSM 450cc
Apex'i WS cat-back - 2.25 inch piping
The ONLY thing I could think of is the 2.25 inch piping is keeping the turbo from spooling fast, so I am not reaching 7 psi by redline, because my autometer boost gauge says 5, but its an autometer, so i don know.
Would 2.25 inch piping hold back my HP numbers TAHT much? I thought drag kits on a b16a2 would make at LEAST, 200 whp. Thanks

bump for needed opinions...
is it true I could gain another 30 whp just by adding a 3" cat-back?

Don't even worry about it dude...when I first had my car dynoed, I had a bone stock b18c1 with a revhard stage 2 kit. I too had a 2.25 inch exhaust and at 7 psi, I only managed 170 whp . After I got a 3 inch exhaust, injectors and the hondata tuned, I made 232 whp with 7 psi. Just get a 3 inch exhaust and the numbers will go up good luck

Re: Dyno results back...seems a too low (Hoodwinked)
My old drag 3 kit b16a2 on a mustang dyno with Hondata, Tanabe RM(maybe at most 2.5") made like 190whp at 7psi. I did have no cat however.
I didn't have a problem hitting full boost by around 4k rpms though on t3/to4b.

Your exhaust will still let you reach 7psi or more so that can't be your problem. smaller pipping just make spool time longer.

smaller tubing makes the spool time longer? you mean the time for it to spool up? i thought smaller tubing made the turbo spool up faster?

So 175 whp on my setup would be reasonable then...since im running a 2.25 inch exhaust and stock cat? What other things could cause it to make less power? BOV leak? intercooler piping leak? Also, my gauge says im only boosting 5 psi, but my tial wastegate is set to 7 psi. is it possible to lose 1-2 psi through my intercooler?
