Dyno - Nitrous on a USDM B18C1
I searched these forums trying to find a dyno of a nitrous'd GSR when I first considered nitrous, but couldn't find any. Went to the dyno today, spent only about 45 minutes to do 2 NA and 2 N2O runs. Here is the result:
Setup consists of a bone stock USDM B18C1 with Skunk2 IM w/ Hondata gasket, USDM DC 4-1 exhaust, test pipe, N1 catback, Imagine Engineering intake, 1 step colder NGK plugs, NGK wires on a stock ignition, S-AFC, Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump, and a 75 shot bastardized wet nitrous system in an EK hatch.
Props to Ranta of Imagine Engineering for the tuning, and FC Customs in Springfield, IL for the dyno time.
I'm going to the track on Sunday. I'll let you know how I do.

oh god, let's not start that again.
i'm fully aware of the risks involved, thanks.
for what it's worth, they are SCHROTH rallye 4 harness belts, mounted to the OEM rear seatbelt locations as per their instructions. i autocross more than i drag race, and i'm not too worried about flipping on an auto-x course.

Re: (Sideout)
man, idk how you can ride with those harnesses. It hurts my back just sitting in the damn thing I can't imagine what a crash feels like with that.
Good job BTW though! Great numbers!
I bet that nitrous comes in real handy on the auto-x course

lol!
i've never been a drag racer. straight lines don't thrill me nearly as much as the twisties.
a local dsm club is putting on a drag race this sunday, though, and they've been pushing me to make a showing.
...so i figured i'd make it worth their while.

That is the correct attitude.

that's the bottle heater sensor...senses bottle pressure to turn the heater on below 900 psi and off when it gets above 1100 or 1200 psi.

Re: Dyno - Nitrous on a USDM B18C1 (redturbocivic)
I weighed it like 6 weeks ago at 2240 lbs.
However, since then I have removed all sound deadening material, put on a CF hood, switched to the Skunk2 IM (much lighter than the dual runner GSR mani), deleted the EVAP canister, replaced the heavy cat w/ a test pipe, and will remove the rear bumper support at the track.
I'll try to get it weighed in race form before this weekend. I'm hoping for low 2100s.

Re: Dyno - Nitrous on a USDM B18C1 (Benny Z)
From what I remember:
NA - A/F ranged from 12.8-13.2
N2O - A/F ranged from 11.8-12.2
Good power, but safe enough for the street where he will encounter different weather conditions is what I was going for.

Meh...IMO, its fine.
as long as hes Ok with it using the extra fuel, he should keep it right there. The 1-3hp more that he would gain by leaning it out, might not be worth the extra heat and possible detonation at low temps.

traction is going to be my limiting factor.
the car's set up as an auto-x car, not a drag car, so i don't have traction bars. i'll race on 555r drag radials...afraid i'd snap an axle for sure w/ slicks.
i'm planning some full-race traction control bars and dss shafts, but not before sunday.
i'm hoping for a 13.2 this sunday.

You can lean ona NA Motor 15:1 for awhile and not hurt anything....It just will make dick power. Theres no way your going to detonate a stock GSR Block NA. Making sure there is enough fuel with the nitrous. Pay attention to the plugs...run them cold. Atleast a 7...I got some 9s here if you guys need them.

Werd...
Thanks for the offer, but I think we'll be alright. Using NGK BKR7E plugs.
You gonna be able to make it to Cordova Sunday?
