Default DYNO- motor fine-timing weird-horsepower not fine

well i got dynoed for the 2nd time this time by Jason Hunt. He was able to bump it to 220 from 194hp. But he said something was wacky with my timing .he had to advance it alot on hondata and the distributor to make it run better. Heres my set-up.
98 prelude w/ 64k miles
greddy turbo kit & intercooler.
750cc rc injectors
walbro fuel pump
2.5 down pipe
2.5 cat
2.5 exhaust- (crush bend though )
hondata s100
manual boost controller set to 9psi
compression and leak down came back fine. any advice?

he advanced it alot means nothing to us. Give us numbers. What is your base timing? What is the timing hondata?

I think your exhuast might be an issue.... since its 2 1/2 crush bend that might be a problem.... you should think about upgrading it to like 3" from the header back or atleast making it mandrel bends just a thought

Edit: and get rid of your CAT!!! or take it out and run some ree bar threw it and get all the honey combe out that would free up some power right there

i was most afraid it would be that........... . then 3" exhaust (mandrel bent of course). if i keep the 2 1/2 down pipe, & cat you think should be fine?

just go 3" all the way. the downpipe wont cost that much more if you have someone that can weld. you will see much better spool up times and top end numbers

ok. total timing was retarded by 26 degrees. base timing retarded at 5. hondata retarded at 21 to equate to 26degrees overall. i think the restriction might be in the crush bent piping. i think the downpipe might have a bend in it also. what a mistake.

Your timing is off at the belt.....use a timing gun & fix it

You could have a stock exhaust and still make more power. Something isnt right to be only maken 220 something at 9psi. I made 242.8 on a stock LS w/ 8.5psi.

Try also seeing if you timing belts havent skipped a tooth or anything. something is fishy...

Good Luck

Sounds like you're off a tooth somewhere check your cam timing.

do you think the distributor could be the problem?
