Dyno inside, tell me what you think...
Here is my set up:
bone stock '00 b18c1
hondata s200b
rc 440's
revhard kit @ 10psi
2.5" exhaust all the way back (cat, resonator, es oval muffler)
I know my exhaust is a little restrictive, but I was kinda hoping for bigger #'s.
The thing is, I only made 205 hp @ 6psi and a 2.5" exhaust shouldn't be a restriction at that boost level.
Are these #'s normal? They seem a little low to me.
blue = 10spi
red= 6psi
green = 6psi baseline

i wouldnt say its that low. i think whats holding you back is the exhaust. i made about 270whp and 190lb @ 8psi with a drag kit useing the afc hack, with an n1 apexi exhaust(about 2.4 inches)
i say lose the cat and get a custom 3 inch exhaust system and youre good to go.

what do you mean you wouldn't say its THAT low? Your telling him you made 70 MORE WHP at 2 less PSI lol

Re: Dyno inside, tell me what you think... (ineedhelp)
do you guys really think my exhaust is THAT restrictive.
I only made 205 @ 6psi. at that boost level I don't think a 3" exhaust would make much of a difference.

i dont know how much more power youll make but, itll feel a lot better. as eveyone knows...the best exhaust system for a turboed car is no exhaust system....
but we cant have that...thats why the best next thing is a 3" exhaust system with NO cat good luck

no, your exhaust isnt that restrictive, I made 270 whp/229 ft/lbs at 10.5psi on my stock b18b (drag 3 kit w/ a smaller t04b turbo) w/ a greddy sp, and thats a really small exhaust
its probably a really conservative tune maybe?

wouldn't your boost guage give you an indication of how well your motors compression is by how much vaccum you are pulling? mine is usually between 18-21

Re: Dyno inside, tell me what you think... (2000GSRT)
not always my vacuum reads 18 and i have 50% leak down in #4 cyl. and my compression is at 65psi on #4 and 130psi the rest.

well there could be alot of things you can also look at. Are you leaking boost? exhaust leak? I dont think your exhaust system is that restrictive....im just saying there could be other factors.

yupp same with me, 3rd cyc was shot but I had a good vac, so as I said before do a compression test, it will tell you a lot.

you are missing about 20-40whp at 6psi and about 50whp at 10psi.
compression test is imperative as well as a leak down test. also it would be nice to get the AFR from the dyno. maybe their tune isnt too solid. I think if i was tuning your car and noticed about 20-50whp missing i would have given you atleast a compression test seeing it takes all of 10-20 mins.
also your exhaust is fine. a lil restrictive b/c you have the cat, resonator, and muffler, but nothing that should make you lose that much power.
also if its a revhard kit for that car, the turbo should be a .63/.60 t3/t04b. thats more or less a guess

Re: (b18b1hmtlove)
What's the difference between a leakdown test and a compression test and why do I need to get both?
Also the tuner wasn't using the dyno's wideband so the A/F ratio did not show up on the sheets. He used his own O2 sensor which screwed into where my primary O2 goes. I guess it's supposed to be more accurate that way.

Re: (2000GSRT)
I got a pretty stock GSR running hondata @10lbs 450ccc dsm injectors, t3/t4 .60/.63 a/r's. 2.5 inch dp and exhaust not cat. I dynoed at 261 and 174 tourqe.
My chart is choppy as hell!!
I thought my numbers were a little low, yours are a bit lower even, could be the cat that thing when you look at it gets so small in diameter inside!!!!!!
I did run a 13.3 with everything the way it its. In EK coupe. stock tires. spinning badin 1st, 2nd.

Re: (mike1114)
id ditch the cat for sure, and in addition the vtec point can be moved down to smooth out the curve in that area. that willl get you a little more HP as well.

Re: (mike1114)
hey man great numbers they do seem a little low... i dont think it could be your exhaust ..... when i got tuned before i was running a stock b18c1 with a drag t3/t4 e turbo and @ 5 psi i made 260 to the wheels and @ 12 psi i made 326 wi the wheels and tha was with 2.25 in piping with 2.5 in down pipe with a CAT and muffler lol... so i know you can make some more power
