Dumb question from newbe. About blow off Valve
I just picked up a turbo hatch with a built Ls motor in it. When I bought it from the guy he told me he has the screw on the bov turned out all the way to make the spring softer so it blows off easier. HE said this is better for your turbo, because it lets the air escape easier. I was like never heard of that one before. SO I was talking to some people and they told me to turn that screw all the way in because the fluttering I hear when I am on the throttle hard is because the spring is set to soft. So should it be set hard or soft. TIA

Re: Dumb question from newbe. About blow off Valve (underpressure (wtbimport))
If you are getting compressor surge, the fluttering noise, you should loosen the screw because your bov is set too hard preventing all of the air from escaping. So it has nowhere to go but back through your turbo. I have an HKS bov and I have it set as soft as it will go and I still get surge ocassionally, I think that it is because the compressor is so big it's inertia keeps it spinning more than a smaller turbo would. I would also suggest running the bov's vaccum line by it's self with out T'ing into anything else. This seemed to help my situation alot.

It is out as far as it can go. Like I said I only hear it when I am on it hard. So by stiffing the spring that would make the situation/fluttering worse?
