Duende's new build- The hunt for 600whp+/DC2
UPDATE: 5/9/11 pics added page 4(Motor is in)
UPDATE: 4/4/11 pics added page 4(Wire Tuck)
UPDATE: 3/12/11 pics added page 3
What's up H-T well I'm planning on coming out a little harder this year hopefully. This is the first time I'm posting my build online and I hope to get some advice or opinions from everyone. I will post pictures as I get thru everything, it will be slow but I hope to have it running by the beginning of April. My previous set up was a bone stock GSR bottom end with a built head, last time it hit the Dyno it made 505whp on 20.5 pounds tuned on Sunoco 116 and that was on my old motor. I never blew it just had really bad luck, mother nature took a **** on my car and everything went down the drain from there. Reason I'm getting rid of the stock bottom is not because it blew, but because the Driver side motor mount broke off the block. But anyways on to my new build all advice and opinions are appreciated. Thanks
The idea and goal is to make over 600whp

Nice setup. Maybe a .82 hotside and bigger injectors would make it more easy. You have the engine for it. Go all out!

for the intercooler pipeing go with 3in on the coldside and 2.5 hotside just make sure your intercooler can keep up with the power you looking to make with out blowing hot air
for injectors go with id they or easy to tune with then other injectors also if you going to use the hondata s300 use the boost by gear and save your self some money and not buy the turbosmart boost controller other then that you looking good

Also i already own the Turbosmart dual-stage boost controller
You think my greddy bov will be fine?
Also what you think about only using 1 walbro fuel pump?

Bosch 044 inline is enough with some nice injectors maybe 1200-1600cc. Any good brand BOV will do the job.
You have a S300. Why in the hell are u gonna swap it for something else to get boost by gear. All you need is to connect some cables to the ECU and the selenoid and thats it! You are good to go!
About the .63 or .82 hotside. Maybe the 63 will get u close to it, but the 82 might render u more or the same HP on less boost and have some headroom for future plans. You have great engine to limit it with the 63.
Best of success!

If you're a greddy RS, then yes, as the opening is not made for a higher volume amount of displaced air, or that high amount of boost pressure. you might want to upgrade to a TiAL. If you're a Greddy Type R (Rare) than no.
You're about at the limit with the single Walboro for 600whp.

Re: Duende's new build- The hunt for 600whp+/DC2
I take it you mean This:
That is the Greddy Type RS (you gotta start knowin' what you're buyin', man). That one can take a good amount of pressure up to the 380-400whp mark, after that, no matter how you tighten it, it may start to leak. Not to mention the fact that the opening is only about 40mm, when you may need 47-50mm, like what the TiAL provides. If you're truly going for 600whp, this is a change you might want to make as you prepare.

If you already have S300 the all you need is the pwm components to be installed in the ecu and the mac valve/boost solenoid. Probably looking at around $120

Not trying to thread jack you OP just have a quick question about the same thing. I'm running the greddy type S and hopefully tuning for around 380-400whp here soon. Will this bov be enough? Secondly I did the single spring mod to it so should I put the 2nd spring back in?
