DSM Injectors: If you have them please chime in
So I am upgrading the fuel pump and injectors on my 1992 DX. It has a Greddy turbo kit with Front-mount intercooler and 2.5in (catless) turbo-back exhaust system.
I am adding Hondata and having a dyno tune session by a local reputable shop.
This shop told me NOT to use DSM injectors! I've seen so many people on here using DSM injectors on their forced Honda's
Whats the problem with DSM injectors? Are they just trying to make a sale off of me for their own injectors?
I should also note I am not trying to make serious power and I track my car 1 time every year and a half.
I am only interested in running about 9psi of boost with the Hondata after tuning and installation of the bigger injectors and bigger fuel pump.
Any info/ideas/knowledge on this subject is greatly appreciated!

why did they say not to use dsm injectors?
everyone uses them, their solid and cheap 450cc
probably trying to sell you ****, or they dont know how to wire a resistor box

i would make sure you get them cleaned and flow checked before using them. Who knows what kind of condition they are in when you get them.

The reason why the shop told you not to use DSM injectors is because hondata does not recommend it. Here's what Hondata says about them:
"DSM 450cc injectors will not work with the Honda ECU - the electrical characteristics of the injector are not suited to the ECU, resistor box or no resistor box.
If you use DSM 450cc injectors you will find the engine difficult to start, and the engine running lean at part thottle, plus tuning is very difficult."

The date of the post in your link was in 03 I have an idea they fixed that issue since then. My build used dsm 450's for as I said 2 yrs NEVER any issues, starting, lean part throttle, drivability or tuning. My tuner said easy peasy to tune maybe the tuner is a little behind on the Hondata stuff

1) Hondata wasn't able to correct for wacky battery voltage offsets, or latency issues (opens slow = lean idle)
2) DSM's tend to use smaller turbos & lots of boost to make similar power, meaning they push the injectors harder at 100% duty cycle. This obviously leads to higher failure rates.
The other minor issue is that sometimes that spray cap falls off, which is obviously bad in a high-CR motor with cast pistons (crunch!). Some people say they spray better with them off anyways.
I'll admit they are quirkier than other injectors, but for a cheap setup - you really can't go wrong. If you have $2500 between the head and turbo alone...maybe not.

So does anybody reccomend a reputable place where I could buy a set of DSM's that have been flow checked/cleaned?
The shop wanted $200 for a used set of their injectors or $280+ for a new set (without install as I will do this myself).
