Default DSM injector parts/pieces needed

Well, I posted this in tech and got one of my two questions answered. So I'm trying here since a lot of FI people tend to use the DSM 450cc injectors.

A couple of the little black "caps" broke off 2 of my injectors during shipping. I need to find out where I can get replacement pieces. Also, for cleaning I can send them to RC engineering right? Here is a pic of the broken pieces:

Thanks for the help.

Sorry to piggyback on your thread, but I just noticed something that brings a question to mind. I notice that everyone's DSM 450s seem to have blue tops. Mine have black tops ("450" is in the part no. on the side of my injectors). Would it be correct to assume that this is just a difference between model years...the 1st and 2nd gen Eclipses?

Mine are blue.

RC will replace the black caps if needed when they do the cleaning.

Hey, I had the same problem with my 450's. They break very easily. You can get them from the mistu dealer, and if you get some, get 2 for me.

The cleaner of my injectors told me they will not effect spray pattern, they just protect the pintle.

If you need injectors cleaned, goto http://www.cruzinperformance.com/fuelinj.html

Rich has cleaned a few sets for me, and he is a great guy. One of them were all within 1% and he told me he *could* clean them but they wouldn't benefit from it. It was a class-act move by asking, i'd bet the farm that RC would just take your $120 and smile.

$10 per injector is a smoking deal too.

The 1st gen DSM 450s are blue, the second gen ones are black.
One difference i noticed, is that if you look at the pintle cover the blue ones look very much the same as stock honda injectors. The black ones however have different spray openings... I'm assuming the 2nd gen ones probably atomize the fuel a little better than the old blue ones.
If you have black ones, take a look at the tip and you'll see what i mean. Us guys w/ the blue ones look like honda sprayers.

Just FYI.

Ditto...I just had him clean my DSM 450cc injectors for me. It's on its way back to me, I should be getting it next week. Cost me about $50 with return shipping. Good deal if you ask me.

Believe it or not, you can. I got them at the dealership. What's most likely happening to you guys who can't find them there, is that scum work in the parts section. Sure, the ride-your-*** salesman dress nice and the dealership looks good and is in a good area, but they hire garbage morons who will try to rip you off to work in their parts department. They'll tell you they don't carry the part, then quote you on 4 new injectors. Catching on? They'll try to con you into getting whole new injectors, they tried it with me. Then I came back 30 mins later, lied, and said I spoke with their distributor on the phone and that they told me they carry them. "Let me take one more look", he says, and magically finds some.

Thanks for the help everyone. I emailed a parts request to http://www.mitsupartsdirect.com but haven't gotten a reply yet. If the caps get replaced during cleaning then that works for me, since I'll be sending them out for cleaning soon.

Justin

How much did it cost for the replacements at the dealership?

I also have to say Rich at Cruzin Performance is a great guy. I recently sent my injectors to be cleaned and he also stated that there all in top shape. So I just have to pay for the flow testing and shipping.
