what do you need to install. if your driving around on a honda system then it must already be installed correct ?
but if you do have your hondata installed, and are running off a basemap. i would for sure not drive it for long. Keep it out of boost, and get to the dyno.

taking off one of the charge pipes could cause over spooling of the turbo. be careful.
just take it easy on her, and you should be fine.

that wouldn't be such a good idea because you can overspool the turbo like platinum said. Honestly boosting a little on the basemaps isn't gonna be all that bad. I've seen plenty of people running for over a year with a basemap and beating on their cars everyday.

uhhhh...you can't turn boost down past the spring!
Like everyone said, you will be just fine. Just do not give the car more then 50% throttle and don't rev past 4k rpm and you can go like that for days. Get the car tunned ASAP though because the bug to hit the throttle will come and bite...HARD.

FMU...that's why!
don't rip on it or touch boost until tunned...please, don't waste your investment

I've been on a basemap for almost 2 years, LMAO. I guess the one I have is ok otherwise my engine would be dead, right? LOL Anyway, I am scheduled to get tuned in two weeks.

Depending on where you bought it from you should be safe to drive on your basemap. All the ones i do are usually good enough to where the customer can drive on the car long distances but just not beating the **** out the car.

Re: Driving w/ untuned HONDATA (WIRED RICKY)
jesus what a bunch of stupid posts, bad information here.
I had the same situation as you except I had to drive from Orlando to Tampa to get mine tuned.
As long as you have a basemap and you do not go into boost, you'll be fine. I drove for like a month on the basemap before I had the $$ to get my car tuned.
DO NOT take off charge pipes or anything, just take wastegate spring out.
Ask sam1am26 above, he's my boy.

Re: Driving w/ untuned HONDATA (mike1114)
hmm... a guy at inline pro told me to take a charge pipe off. That would assure you dont see boost, and if you take it easy and stay under 3-4k, there isnt really a chance of 'overspinnig' the turbo.

you guys act like basemaps are extremely dangerious. You will have no problem dipping into a little bit of boost while you are on the basemap as long as whoever made the basemap knew what they were doing. Boosting like 5 lbs. on a properly made basemap isn't gonna hurt **** imo.

I have not had any major problems with it, save for fouled plugs from running rich.

yea I drove on one for a long time and when i finally checked it with a wideband it was super rich. Actually it was a tuned map, but not for my setup.

Perhaps a boosted B16, for example. I have never had any noticable detonation. Recent compression tests are excellent at 184-180-186-185.
