I believe you can 'over spin' your turbo by doing this.. in which case it would get f*cked up. You might want to look into an alternative before trying.

just lay off the throttle.....how hard is that for people. just don't get past 50% throttle...period. You'll be fine if you stick to that

My suggestion: unbolt the center section of your turbo from your turbine housing. Hack up a piece of thicker metal to fit over the 6-bolt flange on the turbine housing. A bit of leaking should be okay short-term, and almost no chance of melting that block-off plate even if it's thin due to N/A opperation.
The other option would be to highly restrict the outlet on the compressor housing. Not enough to cause compressor surge, just to somewhat simulate having to pressurize the tubes/fmic/motor.
Either that, or risk it. Regardless, open up the wastegate all the way.

I used to blow off my charge pipe hose almost weekly. I would just drive like a granny untill I could put it back on. I have since rebuilt the charge pipe and added reinforced silicone hose and t-bolt clamps now it does not do it.

Same here, but i think i've actually overspun my first turbo. It like it pop off at the track mid run while i'm in the high rpms and its too late to just lay off. That baby started drippin out out the bottom eventually, it was sexy. I would suggest not drivin on it or contstruct some temporary ish.
