Default drag manifold w/ 35mm tial wastegate????

Ok, has anyone had issues with boost creep using a drag manifold and a 35mm tial wastegate? It will be with a .5 bar spring on a T3/To4b.

I know there posts before, but none that specified what size valve.

TIA

T3/TO4E - when I drop gears and punch it, it spikes up to +5 psi whatever I have the boost set at, then comes back down. This only started happening once I started running around 15 psi. Its a well know fact that the wastegate placement on these manifolds is crap. If you are running below 10 psi I dont think there will be a big problem.

Oh ok. So how much were you boosting before it started spiking? Were you using the 35mm tial?

Thanks for your reply

I was boosting 10 psi with no problems. When I started to go over 12, it started to spike. Keep in mind that the Drag manifold was probably designed for lower boost applications. When I was at InlinePro getting the car dyno'ed they told me that they always saw this happen with Drag manifolds at higher boost levels. They were probably trying to sell me an InlinePro manifold though!

Oh yeah forgot I'm using the Tial 35mm..

Drag manifold, 2.5" downpipe and testpipe, 2.36" exhaust, 35mm Tial, 7PSI, ZERO creep

Drag manifold, 2.5" downpipe, 3" exhaust, 35mm Tial, 7PSI, Creep.

All in the piping for me and many others. When large piping frees up exhaust flow, it blows right by the wastegate due to its inefficient location.

I'm curious if anyone used an ebc to control the creep. Only one way to find out.

i always thought that boost creep was likely to happen @low boost and not @ high boost!
your wastegate is working harder @ low boost! i was thinking of buying the drag mani to cause i think it outflows the inline pro or maxworz mani. ill gues ill buy a 38mm tial to go with it and ill be driving without a exhaust.

Just an update.

I installed the drag manifold and i am running a 38mm tial wastegate with a .6bar spring with 2.5 OPEN downpipe. No boost creep whatsoever!!! I am very happy i get no spike It holds boost all the way to redline.

I have that same problem. I am running the Drag mani wih a 35mm wastegate. It suppose to be set at 10psi but it spiked up to 15psi. I hate that. I mean what can be done for this?

where is your vacuum line for your wastegate connected to?

you can try to make a venturi in your exhaust where you connect your WG to. that will suck the gasses out of your WG
its not ideal but i think ill work! Good luck!
