for the Drag kit.

A search will turn up allot about this kit. I guess it's an alright kit for low boost applications but the manifold sucks and the intercooler becomes inefficient in the 300WHP range (correct me if I am wrong). Look at the RevHard 2C kit.

Mine is fine. I just dont like some of the parts that come with it. I ended up replacing a few of them. I like the Speacrco IC that comes with it. Why wouldn't it be efficient in that range?

Drag 3 and the Rev hard kit are very similar. I own a DRAG kit and my brother owns a Revhard kit. We both have upgraded the exhaust manifolds, fuel systems and have standalone Engine Management. The only thing that I see better in the Rev hard kit is the intercooler. Both our motors are setup exactly the same and we are putting out very similar numbers. The Drag kit is not bad at all, but I admit that the Revhard intercooler is more efficient at higher horsepower levels.

I had a drag 3 kit on my 2001 gsr and my 94 gsr and love it. The only 1 problem I dont like is the oil return setup but besides that it everything is good.

I have not had 1 problem with the manifold cracking or spiking since I upgraded the wastegate to a Tial.

All the piping fits 100% perfect regarding and u gotta love the *chrome*

Install is not that hard.....considering ive done 5 drag 3 installs already. The first time will probobly take you a much longer time and pain to do but under a week.

I dont believe many people have issues with the intercooler efficiency since. Where did you come up with those numbers? Unless your a hardcore drag strip racer, the intercooler it comes with is just fine.

Go for the drag.

Where in the bay area are you from>?

Well I know people pushing 1 bar on the kit. I dont know what you consider a low boost application.

Thanks, I live in san mateo. I'm acutally just thinking about running 6-7psi with stock internals for a while (like 2-3years), until i can afford to open up engine and upgrade everything. I think i can run safely at those psi and have a pretty reliable car. I'm not planing to built a 300whp car, just somthing 200+whp, that can run mid-low 13s consistanly without losing reliability. I was willing to settle with the greddy kit at 7psi but they dont make one for my year 00. Any other recomendations for a kit? rev hard, drag, what else? Like I've said my goal is to make 200+whp so i was even thinking about a jrsc (which is pretty reliable).

JRSC is pretty expensive now.

Even at low boost 2-3 years on stock internals may or may not be possible. With a really good fuel management system id say probably but with an FMU or hack I would be checking my compression very regularly (not that you shouldnt check it if you have hondata of EMS). Just know that 3 years is possible but you might be scraping up the funds to build before the end. Since your car is a 2000 you should have low milage and hopefully really compression numbers. Like everyone says though, a turboed honda is a money pit fun and can be reliable but be prepared to treat it better than anyone or anything you know.

downsides on greddy kit: internal wastegate, small turbo for many setups, i don't know enough information about greddy blue box, - read mixed opinions on that

downsides on drag kit: manifold tends to crack and boost spikes at higher psi, mixed opinions about intercooler.

downsides on revhard kit: no filter/filter piping included.

fmu's can be excluded on purchase on most if not all of turbo kits.

Rev Hards Manifold is more efficent imo. Motormatrix put down 565whp with the RH Mani.

Rev Hards Intercooler is much nicer, well at least larger.

Rev Hard 2C comes with a Precision Turbo. You can't beat that. Precision

Drag III's Turbo is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're going to get.

Rev Hard 2C kit comes with a turbosmart wastegate (supports 600hp). Not a POS Deltagate.

Low boost to me is 1lb-12lbs of boost.

They are not too much similar to each other. The Drag kit comes with a random T3/T4 Turbonetics turbocharger and the RevHard comes with a Precision turbocharger. Also, the manifold is better and the intercooler is better.
