Downshifting with turbo bad?
I got a 96 Civic ex and am planning on turbo in the future. I dont want to toote my own horn but i feel like im pretty good at downshifting and matching revs. i know that its bad and wears out the clutch faster esp if i dont do it correctly but im just really used to it. anyways if i slap on a turbo, will downshifting damage anything besides the clutch?

Lol, who told you it was bad and wore the clutch out faster? Rev-matching while downshifting is actually healthier for a clutch than just dropping it into a lower gear and letting the clutch out. You get a much smoother and cleaner engagement with little to no slippage when you rev-match, which helps the clutch last LONGER. Turbo won't change any of that. I have always rev-matched on downshifts and will continue to on my boosted DD Accord. Stop believing everything your idiot friends tell you and do some of your own research before you post a stupid *** thread next time. A 2 second google search will return tons of informative results.

Downshifting won't hurt the turbo, no. The turbo moves air with air, that's all. Even if you over rev the car, you'll blow up the motor before you damage the turbo.
