Default downpipe/exhaust leak....some ideas

I have a small exhaust leak at the lower bolt hole on my 5-bolt downpipe. There is no bolt here b/c the turn off the flange is so close that it just won't fit. I thought of slotting the flange and running a stud and adding a nut, but there is prob. less than an 1/8" in that spot. Any ideas w/o building a new DP which is almost where I'm headed.

you using an gasket or sealent, is the flange flat.... it might not be if it wasnt resurfaced after welding.

I've got the same exact problem. Debating on just buying another downpipe.

At least it would give me an excuse to buy a 3" turboback.

hey i dealt with my own same problem with is today. i got a hax saw and cut the bottom slot for the bolt close to half the thickness on the flange. then got a dremmel , smoothed everthing out so it would fit nice, and got the bolt and ground it down to about half a centimeter and it goes on real good. ill send u the pics of what i did tommorrow becuase its kind of confusing for me to explain it.

i had to do something similar to my bolts that go from the manifold to the turbo on my old setup.
