Default Downpipe Creation from stock flange/bend *PICS*

I basically wanna save some time and money and use a piece of the stock downpipe that was shipped with the turbo but dont know if it will work.

I just want to take the first 3 inches or so form when it comes off of the turbo and does the 90* or atleast part of it so I can retain the bung hole, but Im looking for a 3" downpipe as Im looking to make 300whp out of this D16 and is it possible to weld 3" material to the stock material?

What I want to to is cut right above the studs and get my buddy to weld on a little piece that finishes the downturn and then back under my oil pan

And then Ive got the problem of the wastegate hole, I could try and get my bud to weld is so its always closed and I suppose that works in theory but will it really be flush bit and stay that way?

Or should I just cut it off and weld it right onto the turbo..... will those metals weld together..?

****, you cant even see the little ****** in the pic, all black

I know there are some clashes on what metals weld together and hoping someone can give me some info

I didnt sleep tonight and Im gonna head over to my grandparents and bust out the heavy artilerry and fix my 2 problems today and Ill cut off this section of the downpipe just to see how it turns out, just trying to get as much out of the way as possibly before the install

Thanks

Yeah, you need a new downpipe. no hope for the stock piece. First things first, man.

I think what there trying to say is that it points to the front or back of the car and not downwards.

You can get a 5-bolt flange for about $20. It's gonna save you a lot of work if you just buy the flange

Yah, look at the orientation of the turbo and the manifold. it doesn't line up.

And you're going for 300 hp trying to have a ghetto setup like that?? What are you thinking

yeah throw away that cast crap off of a t-bird t3 get a flange and then u be all good., cast and mild steel dont weld together so well. they are formed different so it will crack and all that ****. even with no exhaust weight it will cause mild grows more, faster than cast.
