this is for a bone stock d16y8, its a garrett T3/To4e 60 trim, 60/48 a/r. does that sound like its overkill for my motor and will lag very badly?

right now it is around 210 whp. i dont plan on building the motor till much later, like wayyy later. my options are to send it back, and get a 57 trim, or a T3 42/48.

If you're only looking for about 210 whp, I would definately go with a T3. Either .60 trim, or something of the like. You'll have really good spool times, and that turbo will easily get you to your goal. I will be running a T3/T04E .60 trim, .63 a/r, stage 3 wheel on my new setup, but I am also looking for 350whp. Definately trade that turbo in for a T3 given your power goals.

If you're talking about me and my T3/T04E, it wont be as much as you think. Gitwidit on here has an SC61 on his D16Z6, and it's really not that laggy. I've driven his car before. Not as bad as you think. And the SC61 is bigger than mine.
But if you were saying you'll have terrible lag with the T3, I disagree.

That one is fine. I have that one currently on my car. slightly bigger exhaust though, but that is a great turbo for a D16. You could always get a GT28r or rs, but you'll spend a fortune on that one. It'll spool up ridicuously fast and also be able to make a bit of power. A T3 is a good choice for a D series though.

i have that same to4e 60 on my built 18c1, and it's laggy on that motor! i would deffinetly sugjest a smaller unit for your aplication. unless of course you want to by it from me so i can buy a 57 trim. I just purchesed a t3 super 60 for my stock 1.8l miata and am having second thoughts about i being too small. meby you could try someting in the middle like a 54. try this web calculator and see if if helps. http://www.not2fast.com/turbo/...shtml
