You are missing two caps, a resistor and a jumper.
J1 - Jumper
R54 - resistor
and c52,c5 should have caps.
correct me if i'm wrong but I think thats it.

You're missing two 0.1uF ceramic disc capacitors at C51 and C52, a 1.1K ohm resistor at R54, and the jumper connection at J1. Easy and cheap parts you can get from Radio shack.

yes, its very easy. Get some desoldering braid to remove the solder from those holes mentioned above, install parts, and add some solder to their joints.

Yah, if someone is decent a soldering... its cake to put in.
Tell us who did that... so we can avoid having them touch an ecu and not finish a chip job after 2 months....

Re: (Slammd Sol)
Looks like whoever worked on it just added the DIP socket and the 74HC373 chip.
Since there is no jumper at J1 you can use this ECU and it will run off of the stock P28 program. To be able to read a chip that you put in the DIP socket you have to put a jumper wire at J1. You also need to put a 1K resistor at R54. The two 0.1uF ceramic capacitors at C5 and C52 are not absolutely necessary, but they are highly recommended. They help to filter out noise or keep the ECU from burning out, I forget which one.

If you go to Moates.net and get the UBER1 kit you can get a ZIF socket and stack it on top of your DIP to make swapping chips easier. The kit also has the 2 ceramic capacitors, 1K resistor, and some jumper wire you can use. The AT29C256 chip will be used for burning your programs to. The extra 74HC373 and DIP socket will be extra. If you dont wanna buy the stuff from Moates you can visit your local radioshack and try finding this stuff there. But you wont find the chip, or ZIF at radioshack. If you cant solder, just visit one of your local electronics store and have them solder that stuff in.

Re: (splitime)
i don't know who rechipped it, but i bought it off this guy that is under a lot of heat for scamming a few other users on HT apparently. i wasn't even expecting the ecu anymore, but it arrived surprisingly.
i also have another rechipped p28 arriving rechipped courtesy of projekteg from HMT.
i'll probably end up selling this one after solder in in the necessary jumpers, capicators, and resistors. thanks for the help.

Re: (93turbo16)
just popped the back off and some spots looks a bit sloppy, but doesn't appear to be bad enough to where it could be bad.
