Does oil in the exhaust affect A/F readings?
I believe that my turbo may be leaking oil from the seals.
I wanted to know if this would affect the A/F readings?
If it does, would it cause A/F to appear lean or rich? Also, would it damage the wideband sensor?
Thanks for information.

Re: Does oil in the exhaust affect A/F readings? (GPNY)
when I called fjo to find out why my fjo was reading richer that was one of the first things he asked if is I was burning oil. I said yes I burn some oil. He said that will make the sensor read richer. He told me to take the sensor out of the downpipe or where ever you have it mounted and let it sit in free air turned on for about an hour. I asked if this will harm the sensor he said no the fjo will not let the sensor over heat. I tried that but then my dumb *** touched the sensor and burn my hand. But after I got the melted skin off of it. I put it back in and it was reading correctly again. Hope that helps

Funny you should mention burning your finger with the o2 sensor.. When I first got my Techedge wideband, I had it heated up in free air and me now knowing much about o2 sensors at the time, I tried to blow into it to see if the numbers on the guage would move and burned the **** out of my lip..
