Does this mean my manifold is cracked? photos inside
I was redoing my down pipe setup when I noticed all the carbon on the weld. It's right under the elbow for the waste gate. I'm assuming this means it's leaking/ cracked?

short answer
yep
that's exhaust leaking.
pull it off, run it down to the local welding shop and have a guy who knows what he's doing with a tig fix it.
don't go to an exhaust shop or cheese it with a mig. use stainless rod in a tig

The manifold has a lifetime warranty from the company. I just wanted to get some opinions and verify before I call them and ship it back because of downtime. It's been on there for about 2000 miles now ,helped make over 600whp.

could if you don't care about downtime., you'll probably spend as much on shipping as you would hiring a local welder

sorry about the thread jack but is there a correct way to repair this crack like as far as prep or welding maybe different filler?

^^ you're supposed to drill out that area to get rid of the excess welds, then use a filler rod and re-weld that area. You can't just clean the area and weld on top of the old weld that cracked because you won't get good penetration and it will crack again down the road.
It's not a Peak boost or Full-race manifold. I won't disclose the name just yet until some action is taken by the company, whether is be positive or negative.

ideally you would wire brush the carbon off the backside of the pipes as well
however, that's not always possible
what i don't get is why the op is concerned with the company and the warranty. if they pay shipping both ways i totally get it. if they don't.....well...for that $50 you spend shipping to and from a local welder would already have it fixed

the welds don't look like full-race.

If getting a drill in there or grinder is difficult, I usually clean the area first, and then turn up the amperage on the welder and hot enough to penetrate through the old weld. And then I'd do another pass on top to let the weld cover a wider area to give it better strength.
Many ways to repair it properly, but I do suggest making a brace for the manifold or downpipe afterwards to take the stress of the manifolds.
Almost every OEM turbo car has proper brackets for the turbo, downpipe and manifold. Follow these steps and your manfold will outlast an OEM piece even if the construction of the manifold is subpar.
I made supports and brackets for over 20+ Ebay turbo installs with sometimes very cheesy manifolds over the years. None of them ever cracked, and 4 years and counting too Just figure out where to support the turbo, and take heat expansion into account. Never make supports and brackets that go against the direction in which it expands.
