does increasing your oil pressure = more power
as title, ive heard that having more oil pressure can help increase power. like modified oil pump, plugging oil squirter, taking out balance shaft and ect... wondering if this is true. but on the other hand i will read posts of some people worrying about having too much oil pressure and that it can cause engine damage.

not too sure if it adds power but you shouldnt remove your oil squirters unless you have forged internals.. im sure alot of things arent recommended but im not certain..

Im sorry but in my entire life ive never herd such a dumb question ever...ever!
Whoever told you this got it off the base that less friction = more power. but thats now the way of doing things. You only usualy more more oil pressure to not starve your internals when reving high. etc.

to much pressure could result in rupturing your oil filter, having more oil pressure wont result in more power, if anything it would make you lose power..
Stock oil pump with no balance shafts or oil squirters is just fine, no need for anything more to increase oil pressure. a properly clearanced engine is much more important.

Something to take from this.
When you hear "rumors" written "lik dis" they're probably about as dumb as the person saying it.

i remember searching for the oil squirter plugs and saw a note on that side saying that "it will help engines with vtec". why would they say that when only vtec motor came with oil squirter. i wonder why people would do these modified if there wasnt any gain. unless there is somewhere

Oh, and no, increasing oil pressure will not result in any power increase and will probably result in less power because of the extra power required to drive the oil pump.

Re: does increasing your oil pressure = more power
why is Stock oil pump with no balance shafts or oil squirters is just fine to do but no need for anything more. so your saying its good to increase your oil pressure?? why would you say that when you stated that having more oil pressure wont result in power and will make you lose power. why will people do this if it will make you lose power.

People remove the balance shafts for mutiple reasons, if you cant figure out why, its pointless to try and debate this.

Re: does increasing your oil pressure = more power
Most of the time they are not done for gains, they are done for safety reasons.
For instance. The Y7 and Y8 Dseries engines are notorious for having low oil pressure and spinning rod bearings. So people will shim and port the oil pumps to move a bigger volume of oil in order to keep a built engine spinning at 8000+ rpms from spinning a bearing.
