Default does built motors suppose to have "blow by"?

i'm running GE sleeves w/ JE Pistons and Eagle Rods. Car runs perfect (perfect compression) and indling fine. However, I have a real bad blowly where my valve cover BLOWS air and not sucking air. Is it normal for built motors or should I be worry?

Well, from what I've been gathering for the past few days from the archives, the problems lies in the PCV system. Are you running a PCV valve? If so, when you are boosting, it closes the PCV valve since there is no longer vacuum in the intake manifold. The question is, where now will that positive crankcase pressure go to? Yep, that little hole on the valve cover, either that, or blow through some gaskets.

Right now I've been trying to find out the proper way of getting around this and it seems that "JT"s method is sticking; run an open loop system: A hose from the black box on back of block to the ground and a hose from the valve cover to the ground. No PCV valve anywhere Like as he says also, this is not emissions legal.

My question, however, will it promote or hinder ring seating by this setup?

hmm...that's interesting...do you suppose putting more vent hols inthe valve cover will reduce the chances of blowing the head gasket?

Im running open loop, but instead of running it to the ground, its going in a catch can...
