The rpm reading on my lm-1 just bounces up and down, curious if anyone else has this problem while using the inductive clamp? i haven't tried to hook it up with the tach signal from the ecu or anything else?

also how do you do screen shots to post up your readings from the lm-1

Have not had any problems with my inductive pickup... try reflashing the Innovate unit or cleaning all the connections.

Press Print Screen (copies contents of your screen to the clipboard) while the graph is on your screen, then paste it into MSPaint or some other graphics program to save it as a file.

Go to their website http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/, find the latest version of the software, and download it. Inside the Innovate program you already have installed on your computer, you will see a button for Update Software, just click that and it will transfer the file to your wideband unit.

I don't think it's a software issue. I was having that problem, and the next time I datalogged, it was solid. You can try wrapping the plugwire with aluminum foil so that the clip fits tightly, I wish I knew what changed, but we didn't change anything, and it started working again!

it is rather loose on the wire i bet thats it!!! you can use aluminum foil?

idiot me didnt gap my plugs down and it was misfiring :doh:

I have never gotten my inductive clamp to log correct readings with the Innovate.

How have you guys wired your grounds? My RPMs are always really low or really high.

Never calibrates correctly.

I heard with honda's that you don't need to ground it for the rpm pickup. I have the innovate but I do not have the inductive so I do not know first hand.

That's correct that you don't have to ground out the inductive pickup

I have tried it everyway possible...ground, no ground...ground to chasis...both convertor and unit grounded to same location...blah blah blah.

And I'm on my second convertor

I'm at 5.5 lbs right now...and had never had any issues with misfire...

Why would gapping my plugs make the inductive clamp read better? More current able to jump the gap read higher in the wire?

yeah i dont have a problem with it reading a bouncy idle...i just have problems with it logging the correct info

it was only crazy at high rpms it would dip and go back up just crazy!

Mine is reading solid on the converter LED....but on the actual datalog everytime I do a full pull it randomly jumps in the middle like the RPMS go 3k, 3.5k, 4k, 10k, 8k, 19k, 5k, 5.5k, etc..Really weird, I just kind of ignore it though..it also seems to be lagging by about 500rpm or so.

Weird thing...tonight, everything is datalogging almost dead spot on...stumped.

Maybe something just moved to the right spot but I havent changed anything so I dunno...getting nice graphs with LogWorks now tho

Hey this is a little off topic but i was wondering where you guys put your 02 sensor at ? I think they come with the bumg or whatever but could u just stick it down your exhast pipe without wleding it in. Ive seen them do this before at Dynos at car shows and such and was jw because im looking at buying one . thanks for the help

Put the O2 sensor as close to the turbo as you can...within reason. 2" is probably too close....18" is way to far. I think Innovate recommends as close to the Cat as possible but if thats 18"...you are looking at a hella slow readings from the WB because it takes exhaust gases at least a second to travel that far.

And even if the sensor does burn up...they are only $29 each

This is why I didn't get the RPM pickup.

We just log with the Hondata at the same time, and cross reference the RPMS.

We do the same thing with my freinds DSM link.

Not true. Just think about the WB's that the Dyno Jets use. They fit a tube at the end of your exhaust, and then the gases have to go thru that tube before they even reach the sensor.

The speed at which your exhaust gases are moving while tuning is pretty damn high. But of course the closer the sensor is, the better.
