Does anyone run extra clearance with oem pistons?
I had my block honed after cracking a ringland. Apparently the machinist decided to add extra clearance without asking me. My piston to wall clearances are between 0.0022" and 0.003". This worries me as the service limit for cast piston is 0.002" from the Helms manual, but does anyone else run similar p2w clearance with oem parts?
The motor makes 400hp. Should I just run it with the extra clearance and not worry about it?

No reason really. I'm going to run alcohol injection and just want to try it again with cast pistons.

I did it one time with JDM ITR 81.25mm pistons. The clearances were anywhere from 0.0026" to 0.0028". It slapped on cold starts for just a second or two but otherwise ran fine. I took the motor apart after 25k miles and there was no extraneous wear on the skirts or ring lands.
