Do you think 11:1 and JRSC at 8lbs will live
I am deciding what compression to buy for my b18c1 10:1, 10.5:1, or 11:1. I will have engine management. Are Arias pistons decent from your experiences, cuz I can getem cheap. Thanks

Re: Do you think 11:1 and JRSC at 8lbs will live (Racing Hartless)
Given the extremely high intake temperatures common to JRSC installs I would not even THINK about going any higher than 10:1 compression.

Re: Do you think 11:1 and JRSC at 8lbs will live (Racing Hartless)
yes....it can and does live....in my car. i am running in my crx this setupand remeber this is sohc stock stuff
A6 stock block with Y8 cylinder head<this is known as "mini-me"=approx 11-1 compression>
JRSC with Y8 pulley<bigger>=11psi on boost guage
kamikazie header, test pipe, greddy mx catback
Zdyne gold secu controlling dsm 450cc injectors
and for sh*ts and giggles a 25 dry shot nitrous
as stated above...TUNING is the key. on stock sohc valvetrain i have to keep the rpm down<6500> so dyno hp #s aren't super=188@6500 BUT tq # of 174@3700 is great...high compression+boost=fun to drive

Re: Do you think 11:1 and JRSC at 8lbs will live (Cramerox)
the torque is excellent, but the little SOHC just doesn't breathe very well up top, hence the low hp output.
If I had my preference, I would go stock compression or slightly lower.

actually dustin, Seeker's car was tuned on my dyno, on pump gas. Race gas isn't needed if tuning is correct at that boost level.

hmmm....
FL - Republican controlled state - 93 octane, no emissions.
CA - democrat state - 90.45 octane, and the worst emissions testing currently out there.
You be the judge.

Re: Do you think 11:1 and JRSC at 8lbs will live (Arturbo)
hey, when Im behind the wheel, my air is filtered. When I'm not, I'm sweating in my shop, with the dyno going, I get the worst and emissions. And I smoke. I am walking cancer

John, you sound like your bringing the " Westcoast/ Eastcoast" Thing up, Ha ! Ha !.
I have seen Seeker's car many times and been on many trips with him, his cas runs like it came from the factory with boost. Tunning is the key , And the Z-dyne really seems to work well .
High compression and boost is good stuff !

Re: Do you think 11:1 and JRSC at 8lbs will live (Cramerox)
should u be getting more HP than that?
let me try this again...6500rpm..that was the top end that i dynoed....not 8000+
like the dohc guys...and a little reminder that
HP= (TQxRPM)/5252....higher that you rev it that more hp possible...i have seen a S000 make 200+ on dyno...revving to 9000 BUT only ~130TQ....like Vaportrail says "you buy horsepower but you drive torque"

Re: Do you think 11:1 and JRSC at 8lbs will live (seekerONE)
I blew my engine with JRSC and 9psi after 1/2 hour on the dyno programming the Haltech ECU. Th eJRSC makes too hot intake temps. We had 20 C outside and the intake temp was 90 C degrees. WTF.
Go with 10:1.
