do a lot of you guys do this fpr thing?(link inside)
i'm trying to fix my fuel issue with my car and it's just dumping fuel into the car when i have the inline pump on...i just installed the 310's and the 8:1 fmu disc but the car just boggs with the inline pump on...but it worked fine this morning but after that it just kills the car....it did the same thing with the stock injectors in also...but i've tried everything to fix this but someone posted this link about costomizing the b&m fpr to lower idle fuel pressures. i just don't want to mess up anything i just want to know how many of you guys have done this and has it worked for you?

Re: do a lot of you guys do this fpr thing?(link inside) (uneekcrx)
the pressure mod is drilling a 0.035" hole in the FPR to bypass the fuel at idle. I ahve just done it, but haven't seen the results yet. When I get the car running next week I will post about it or you could e-mail me.
The procedure is outlined here: http://www.theoldone.com/ Do it your self and you will have a hard time drilling the 0.035" hole. The bit is so small. Use a dremel and alot of tapping oil and it will work. I had a machine shop do it for me for nothing.
Check the articles and look for pressure regulator modification.

I've done it, it works. Make sure you start small with the hole, .035" is a good start. I used an awl to make little starter dent, those little bits are a bitch to start on a rounded surface. Buy more than one bit, they are tiny and easily broken. Increase in size until your able to lower the pressure to suit your needs. With this mod, once the pump switches off, the pressure will fall faster than stock. Larger the hole, faster the fall. You want to start the car as the pressure is rising(pump on), before it starts to drop(pump off). Turning the key off and on again will restart the pump.

Re: do a lot of you guys do this fpr thing?(link inside) (uneekcrx)
also the fuel pressure with the 310's(actually 92-96 prelude injectors) it's idling at 20-21 psi and the b&m doesn't go any lower than 20psi...is this too low to be at idle anything higher and the car boggs...if i turn on the pump it just dies......so i'm thinking that the prelude injectors are bigger than 310's....i just want to fix this **** so i can go run run my damn car...............

Save yourself the hastle... Lowering the pressure even lower will cause your car to run worse. You have to maintain at least 20 psi of pressure at the injectors in order for the fuel to be under enough pressure to atomize properly. Trust me, I've had 310's with the FPR mod. It didn't work well. I was running 16 psi acutally and it was still too rich with a BOSCH pump intank. You need to get yourself some sort of fuel controller. SFC-VTEC, SFC, AFC, or VAFC whatever your flavor of engine you have and what you want to control. Then set the pressure back to factory and dial back the pulsewidth with the controller. With a VAFC or AFC you will be able to back off 50%. Take cc of original injectors and devide by new injector cc and then subtract that from 100 and you should get a rough estimate of what to dial the pulsewidth back to. (i.e. 240/310=.77 100-77=23) So at low rpm you can dial back -23 on the controller. Sometimes you have to take more out depending on your injector lag time. Anyway, sorry for the long winded responce and I hope this helps you out.
Trust me, you'll still have probs if you do the FPR mod, plus the responce of the FPR will be slower due to the newly created pressure drop point.

so do the majority of people running an inline and fmu combo have this problem with idle fuel pressure being too high? If so, is there a way to have the pump shut off when the throttle plate is closed or when it is at idle?

maybe u all check my post ,i know im a newbie but im running a BB6 (prelude 5th gen2.2)fpr in a BB3 2.0i 4th gen, using the resonator vaccum line to reduce the fuel pressure at topspeed
