Do I have to run 3" cat-back or can i stick with my 2.5" ?
Im starting to piece together a turbo kit. I already have a 2.5" magnaflow. I was wondering if it was possible to slide with the one I already have or would it be wiser to move up to the 3"? I prefer to stick with the one I have since its not very old. What would happen if I stuck with the one I have as of right now? Would'nt it provide more torque since theres more back pressure?

First off, in NO system do you want back pressure. Maybe smaller diameter piping for better scavenging effects at lower RPMS (think of flow), but never back-pressure.
With a turbocharged system the turbo provides enough back-pressure as it is, so post turbo you want the biggest exhaust possible. If you will be staying under 280whp you can stick with 2.5" and not loose significant power.

Alright well im planning to run around 7psi which is between 210-230hp so I suppose running the magnaflow exhaust will be fine for now as a temporary solution until I find which setup will work best.

what motor are you running? i made 275 on 7 psi on a dynapak. i paid 175 for my 3" kteller with magnaflow setup. what im trying to say is the exhaust isnt that much more.

no need for it to be temporary, you wont really gain anything from a 3" at those power levels especially if you run open WG dump.

you really won't gain anything?... I don't have a 3" exhaust and I've already decided to purchace a 3" Kteller bolt up kit. The way I look at it, even if you might not gain anything your always better off... you can be sure that your not restricting anything as far as the exhaust goes
