Default DIY Intercooler piping shape compromise - Long and smooth or short and kinked?

I'm putting a saab vigen IC in my 93 hatch. My compressor outlet is positioned in such a way that the 2" warm side piping will have to be about 1.5 feet long and coiled up and kinked like a snake OR it could be 3 feet and have very nice smooth bends.

What is the "best' setup or what are the tradeoffs that i may not have thought of?
i know more internal pipe volume the worse the boost response. Will sharp bends right out of the compressor really matter since the air is so turbulant? thanks for any ideas
