diy electronic boost controller

any one created one of these, if so lets share ideas

so far im thinking to use gm boost solenoid along with some sort of variable voltage trigger such as the tps.

searching the forum i found a one specific diagram showing something similar
http://www.electronic-circuits-diagr...rsimages/1.gif

could i use the tps as a potentiometer?

any one have any other ideas to share.

this is just for the diyers so no comments about why not just buy one, its nice to learn new things !

Re: diy electronic boost controller (alloutmotor)

you would probably be better off using a system of manual boost controllers/ electronic solenoids and a way of activation for each level...... timer system, some sort of switch system on the clutch pedal or shifter to allow the solenoids to change boost levels.

i thought of that, some sort of momentary switch, or staged switch

Re: (alloutmotor)

instead of the potentiometer, why not have an electric solenoid w/ adjustment for each gear ala txs 4stage, with a microswitch on the shifter for each gear position?

Re: (dturbocivic)

it can be done.

for your circuit, the duty cycle = [(R1 + R2) / (R1 + 2*R2)] *100%

and the minimum it would be 50%

for duty cycle less than 50% you add a diode parallel to R2 and going downwards

in this case, the duty cycle = [R1 / (R1 + R2)] *100%

sorry, but it's too late to go in details .. do some search on "555 timer" and you'll find good stuff. They come 2 timers in 8 DIP, so you can have one for low boost, and one for high boost.

good luck
