Uhmm
Thanks for the lessons guys but I was already aware of the difference and have seen the maps on top of each other, easy to tell the difference
However, I got it with a full race kit I bought off a member here, and with the ramhorn mani I'm hoping to get around 300whp, or should I just sell it and get a 50trim?

I mean, seeing the size of the turbo, it being ball bearing and running of a 2l as opposed to 1.8 and all

I dunno depending on resale value and all we'll see what happens. It apparently had been sitting for a long time so it has a tiny bit of shaft play, anything you suggest me doing before using it on my setup?

It's never done! It's never fine! Never leave it alone! Lol.
Anyways as was said above, hard to choose any one turbo as a "favorite" but for 250-300hp The old disco potato Gt2860rs is king for me. For 350-450 I love the Billet wheel GTx3076r, for the 500-600 realm I loved the billet wheel 6262 or some of the beefier gt35r variants. For huge all out power if I was building a super 1000+hp Stroker K I'd probably chose a billet Turbonetics 7675

The Greddy 18G was my first turbo. It was cheap, reliable, and made good power on my stock LS. Not really a whole lot to say, it was my first turbo so I was excited to just be boosted lol
The GT2560R replaced it and was on the stock LS for a couple years. It was probably my favorite turbo for a daily honestly. "instant" spool from pretty much any rpm above 3000. Just punch it and it goes. No need to brake boost when racing, and was great for autocrossing. I had a buddy who normally does time attack EVO's (Professional Awesome is the team) drive it one round and said it was the most fun hes had autoxing a honda. I would do it again in a heartbeat if I was to build a stock LS turbo again.
SC6152E was on the built LS I had in my EJ8 for a year or so. It was fairly old and had started to burn oil already when I bought the car, but put some solid numbers up with the motor prior. Not super responsive but didnt feel huge. Didnt really have it very long to say whether or not how much I liked it.
(gen I?) STC reaper wheel was retrofitted on the SC6152E when I had it rebuilt and lasted up until recently. The compressor wheel felt more responsive and definitely had some better top end. This all of course was still in the original packaging with the non ported shroud compressor housing. I was pretty happy with it for a highway car. Ended up making 602/453 on 30lbs of boost with the built LS
The STC Interceptor is what I have now. It spools about 750 rpm quicker with the VTEC Head than the LS setup with the reaper. It sounds orgasmic spooling up with the HKS style compressor housing and made really nice torque, which was what I was after replacing the reaper. I've really only had it for a little while but so far Its been great. The recovery spool between shifts is noticeably better than the reaper (ball bearing also)

The 18G is a very capable compressor wheel. The only issue is that the most common Honda version is Greddys TD05H-18G. On a high VE application B series motor the TD05 compressor cover and turbine wheel don't allow full use of the compressor wheel. D series motors are making 350+ with ease with that wheel combination while B series struggle to reach the same goal.
Had the B series application used a TD06 compressor cover it would have behaved a bit better but it's the small TD05H turbine wheel that ultimately restricts power. A slightly larger TD06 variant in the same turbine housing would allow the full flow of the compressor wheel to be utilized and it would have made the B series kits serious performers. Personally I've wanted to build this version of an 18G and see just how much better it would perform over the typical TD05H-18G

Kinda like statistics with a little pre-calculus... you have points in a sample, and when connecting all the dots with a line, you had the standard deviations change a bit to give a more accurate sample.. So the lines change.
Same result, no change in power, just, more precise calculation. Nothing more, nothing less.
I think I found a new favorite. Frank M's Interceptor R+

Adiabatic efficiency points were just smoothed out in the mathematical extrapolation.

If I had to pick one out of my personal "collection" of 23 it would have to be my IHI RX8.
Why?
Because it's 25,000 dollars and 15.8lbs of ball bearing titanium and magnesium Motorsports history and capable of supporting around 1200hp.

Yea the RX8 uses a PTFE coated titanium compressor wheel in a magnesium compressor housing. There's some debate as to the turbine housing material as it's a very thin wall (around 2.5mm throughout) investment casting which is super light. It weighs less than a Garrett GT28 T25/5 bolt internal wastegate turbine housing and is 4 times the size lol.
Granted at the level of racing this turbo was used at cost obviously wasn't an issue, only making power and being fast but consistent.

Ohhh, billet anodized blue anti-surge goodness.
And for wantboost's post, is that your billet GTX30 wheel I see there?? :D Looks mighty familiar (got mine too, waiting on the ATP ported shroud).
Wish I was deeper in the industry, or ballin enough to have Tial v-band turbine housings and 25,000 turbos lol. For now, stayin vicarious.

Wantboost is more of a connoisseur and collector of snails.. Not ballin', just selective of what he's had over the years

One is a demo wheel KTS gave me, it's not a full wheel.
The other is a BorgWarner/Bullseye ETT Billet wheel I've had for close to 8 years now. I never found a turbine with a big enough shaft diameter to use it.
My current collection sits at roughly 23. It's just years of looking for things and getting lucky plus people have given me turbos.
A few I picked up because I found the way they failed to be atypical so I tore them down to find out what had happened. 1 was a gt1752 that ate a compressor wheel and cracked a backplate and then 2 IHI VF39s were given to me that came off the same STi which murdered the entire bearing assembly and both shafts (told them to check the feed line, it was blocked lol)
As far as being given turbos. They would be a GT2871R, FP TD06SL2 20G, 2 60 trim T3s, a GT2860R, and a Switzer 3LM.
Other than that it's things like an STC turbo, Evo 8 16G w/ FIA 32mm restrictor, IHI RX8, HE351VE, GT3788VA, a pair of JWT Sport 600s, two t25/t28 hybrids, Stock SR turbos, and so on.
7 are lined up for my project cars, at least this version of each. Once a few are shaken down they will get different turbos from STC. Some are going to get rebuilt/modified and sold. I'm always looking to add though. I've stumbled upon a mythical Holset HX50R from the Lola/Cosworth XB CanAm cars I'm trying to get my hands on. Possibly an HX35 for a BS project.
I basically self educated myself on everything turbocharger related which got me where I am today lol. I start an IndyCar/LeMans program next year if nothing goes wrong so hopefully in the next two years I'll be getting paid for everything I know. Yay for hard work and dedication.
