Default Alvarez.Esteban's 1995 honda civic dx b18C1 turbo build thread

Well I finally got things moving with my build, i had some trouble at the beginning because the b18c1 i bought first had rusted out cylinder walls and i was no able to get rid of it with a .5 overbore.

The first b18c1 i bought of a friend ended up being a complete waste of money.

The cylinder walls are complete garbage
as you can see.

Long story short, the week of Easter Sunday my girlfriend and I decided to buy some stuff for Easter so we went to Walgreens couple minutes from our home and little did we know that my girlfriends 96 Acura Integra GSR was going to be stolen. We never believed to get it back but about 9 months later the police found the car but not the way we wanted. this is how we found the car.

The integra she had was completely stock CANADIAN GSR, it was super clean inside and out and to think we would find it in that condition. The thief or thieves installed a hacked *** job of a JDM frront integra. It was literally held down by one bolt. suspension was all shot, interior smelled liked weed, wiring all messed up steering wheel missing and the list goes on. These thieves were local and installed the jdm front end to disguise it, funny thing is that i had seen that car driving around in my town but i never imagined it was my girlfriends integra.

yanked out complete engine and transmission and we junked the car. too much expense to fix all that damage

Someone really put on a JDM front end on a stolen car and drove it around like that? How were the thieves caught with the car, if you don't mind me asking? Also what did you do with the JDM front end?

Further reinforcement that I need to prioritize getting a good alarm/theft recovery system in my Civic....

Good luck with the recovery man. Post some pics of the Civic!

the problem was that the thieves vin swapped the car , but being the bright minds they were , they took it to the state reff to get something done , i dont know exactly what they were trying to do but the reff noticed the underhood vin didnt match the dashboard vin and he reported it to chp. they towed the car from the thieves home.

il post some more pictures up tonight , block is fully assembled with some goodies

Californias too close too the border for these kinda cars as a daily, Its always some honda from california. And weed and some hernandez last names if recovered.

And they drive them around after lol. I saw some cops impound and send hondas to the crusher in cali on youtube for street racing/ stolen engines in cali. Most were rice buckets though.

Cali is loaded with exotics too

Mainly So-Cal sends cars to the crusher, not up here in the Bay Area and the rest of Nor-Cal. I believe OP is in Nor-Cal area and it is a good 7 hour drive to the border, either way it does happen even further north of here.

My plans are to swap the motor into the civic first , without the turbo and save up for a turbo kit. I was thinking of buying a kit from GO AUTOWORKS. They seem like a legit kit. I want to be able to drive this car on the street without catching to much attention specially because im from california and the cops are ******** about mods here.

cylinder head before machining

p72

The good thing about tearing down this engine is that im completely sure all parts were in working order so i don't have to worry about problems too much. Ihad a picture of the underside of the head but i cant find it, il try and post one soon.

Installed new input shaft seal and shifter seal

allsyncros were good

cleaned surface up real good
So i had been having trouble with my transmission, my trans case was cracked so i ended up getting a new one, The problem was that i had never done the differential bearing preload and I had a hard time. I finally got it together
