Did you need to upgrade your Oil Pump when you go turbo?
My oil pressure is about 10-20psi at cold idle, and around 2-8 psi after driving on the highway. usually around the 2-4 range at the most. I was told that if I get a oil cooler, that the pressure would drop even more. Maybe a good idea to get a stronger oil pump? I dunno
BTW, it's a 1999 Civic Si w/maxrev turbo ... kit.. sorta.

hehe.... you should have at least 60+ pounds on cold idle and you should have at least 10 pounds per 1000rpms you see. I dont know, maybe your gauge is messed up, but you should never be below 10 pounds...

I'm running 5w oil in my car right now, I was told that is way too thin of a oil viscosity for my turbo.
I also had a small leak in my oil line as well, resulting in the loss of pressure.
I got the line fixed, and now see about 40psi or so at idle, but after driving, my oil pressure drops to 2-4psi. But I haven't changed to 15w-50 yet, I bought the oil, but I haven't changed it yet.
I will see how the oil pressure is when I change my oil to 15w.

I changed my oil from 5w to 15w earilier this morning... Around 3am this morning.... Er.. I had nothign else better to do
I notice that my idle is now around 60psi at a cold start, and I let my car warm up for about 1/2 hour and the idle is now at 20psi. That is 17psi higher than when I had my 5w in there.
The 5w, even when I warmed it up and gave it a 10 min cool down, came out like water.
Even back in my old NA days, even if the car was hot, it didn't come out like water. It just came out hot but had it's slimyness. I guess myabe the high heat from driving prevoiusly broke it down too much? I don't know.
But I have yet to drive hard with the 15w. Hopefully, that will have sovled some of the issues that I have. If it doesn't, I'm going to be very very grumpy.

right now, I'm getting about 60psi on a cold start, and and warmed up idle, it's at around 20-25psi.
After long highway drivign, the psi dropped to about 12-15 psi, and would go around 20psi at times. Leak.. seems to be.. for the most part... gone.. I guess. I hope it stays away, and never comes back!

Well when its cold, mine goes to 80 psi, but as I warm it up and anything above 2500 rpms the oil pressure is AT LEAST 60psi. My buddies ls/vtec turbo would go to 90psi when cold and even once warmed up would stay at 70 psi once above 3000rpms or so.

even at a steady rpm at on the highway u should be around 40
But yeah, on a constant throttle on the highway, I was getting around 40psi of oil pressure.
If I get on the gas moderately, it jumps to around 60-70psi.
Does everything seem okay now??

Hmmm... Sounds like my oil presssure is back to normal!
phew! i was pretty scared seeing my big ole 1psi of oil pressure!
What viscosity oil were you guys using?

OIl leak is BACK... I thought it was gone, but I notice that after driving on the highway, and I pulled off to go to my destination, that my oil pressure was around .... 6-10psi. When it was usually around 10-15psi around idle.
WHen I'm on the throttle on the highway, it's around 60-70psi. The leak is small, but it's becoming more and more significant.
This is rather annoying.

No such thing as a bad Defi gauge.
That and... when I look under my car, I will see a drop or two of oil on the ground, so I KNOW I'm leaking.
It's not very much, possibly around a teaspoon a day. Still, I'd like it to stop.
