Default did a search... still confused, pcv setup for boost???

I'am going to be running ~18psi on a built d16z6 soon. I don't have any emission concerns/laws around here. Will this setup work/be effective?...

use a valve cover breather filter?
plug up the pcv barb on the IM?
vent the black box to the ground?

never run a breather filter on a valve cover, its gonna clog up with oil. but still lots of people do it, just run a line from your valve cover nipple dumping on the ground and as for dumping the pcv box to teh ground and blocking the nipple on the IM it is good, but if you wanna go even more you can always vent your valve cover even more with some fittings welded to your VC.

Do run ANYTHING to the ground like that, it's people like that who ruin it for the rest of us. Just run the lines to a catch can with a filter on top.

Yes, a catch can is a must for forced induction engines to ensure optimal crancase ventilation. Check out this thread, as there are a ton of subjects on catch cans that'll help you. Good luck!

I run a breather filter, dont want any unfiltered air entering my engine. The rest of my pcv system is totally stock.

the pvc system doesn't suck it blows air out the one on the valve cover but the easier way to do a catch can is get some hose and run one from the back of the engine and one from the valve cover to a can one of ebay or so. and a filter on top easy. and cheap u can costume make your can like the ac aluminum can that sits next to the washer fluid. After that run your vacuum lines to that bigger opening where the pvc was on the
IM it is better so like bov and the boost gauge run it to that.

Sure it does. When the pcv valve is flowing, external air is pulled in through the port on the valve cover.

It also acts as a pressure relief when the pcv valve is closed.
