Default Did I choose the right turbo for my application? (GT3076RLE)

I have a B16A with Eagle rods (HD), Weisco pistons (9.0-1). Looking for streetable power around 300whp. Did I go with a turbo that will work for what I'm looking for? Thanks!

The GT30R is good for 500hp and spools pretty quickly so it's a good choice for your goal of 300whp.

You could have gotten away with a GT2871 and had a little quicker spool time.

Car: Eg civic coupe

Engine: GSR with 0.020" 9:1 CP pistons, Manley rods, OEM bearings, ITR intake cam, GSR exhaust cam

Mods: EL manifold, Tial 38mm wg, 3" v-band dp, 3" exhaust, Custom IC piping, Large front mount, RC 750cc injectors, Walboro 255lph pump, AVCR boost controller, Edelbrock IM, Edelbrock Tb, stock b-series throttle, GT2871 w/.82a/r housing

17psi on pump gas

24psi on 110 octane

*Injectors were running at 95% duty cycle. I had to detune the higher rpms to not make as much power. With more fuel, this could have easily made 450whp.

It's actually a customer of Jeff's, ?John Lozada?, but I figured I would post it to show what it's capable of. 250whp @ 5,000RPM

What kind of fuel pressure were you running? I heard you could support 500-550 whp with 720cc injectors at 50psi? I would like your input on this. I am runnning these injectors with a GT30R on a "street" car. I still want reasonable gas mileage and decent resolution on my map.

save some money and go with a SC50 or a SC34 you can make 300 with these turbos easy, but they lag a bit more then a ball bearing turbo, but they are cheaper

Hrm I was also looking and am torn between an GT28RS with T3 .82 drop in vs the GT30R... I couldn't really find much dyno plots of the b16 with GT30R nor the B16 within the stock map sensor limit. Almsot want to go GT30R just cause it's got the ported shroud... lol. On my SC34 boosting 10 PSI I hit full boost at about 5000-5500. 1psi at about 3500. Will I see much gains running the GT30R over this in spool time and overal powerband?

Can't wait to see what the spool characteristics will be... I'd imagine at that size you still prolly won't hit full boost rtill about 4500-5?

We hit full boost in our evo with the same exact setup on Justins car by 3k !!!!
we never got to Really power tune the car, but we did make 400 whp on a fairly basic tune.

nice turbo, but seems a lil big for your power goals....I also agree that the gt2871r would have been a lil nicer even the sc50 and sc34 but you def. have tons of room to grow with the one you picked out
