Did I blow my motor?!
So I was cruising on my way to work this morning when I looked into my rear-view mirror and noticed a black eclipse with a FMIC running up behind me FAST. i was doing about 75 so i decided to drop to 4th and keep the rpms up and wait. When he was almost up to me I floored it and the car PULLED. We ran it to about 105 mph and I was whooping his *** so I let off. As I let off I heard a loud backfire and the engine began to sound like a tractor. I looked into the rear view and say the highway was now FULL of smoke. I put the car into 3rd and cruised off at my exit. At the end of the off-ramp I stopped at the light. As I pulled up to the light the car cut off. I tried over and over and over to start it and...NOTHING. The car just did a slow cranking but never quite turned over. I'm worrying that I blew a piston or something. Any ideas?
cliffnotes: ****-load of smoke, car sounded like a tractor, won't start again.

is your car boosted or what's the specs on your car? What color was the smoke that you saw coming out of your car on the highway?
Best thing you can do right now is pull your spark plugs and check those, and do a compression test and see where you stand after that.

well, i'm gonna do a compression and leak down test tomorrow to see if what you guys are saying is true. either way, i have a spark racing stage 3 turbo block on the way, but i was hoping this motor was gonna last me until i can swap.

Not trying to start anything but of course you will whoop some *** if you floor it when they are almost beside you.
I have to agree with the rest. It is time for a rebuild

Just curious, how many pounds of boost were you running and what was your set-up? My guess is it wasn't even tuned.
As everyone else has said, something internally is gone. I highly doubt its your ringlands, usually cracked ringlands will still provide enough compression to start a motor, however; a split sleeve will not. Check your radiator and oil for the mixing of both liquids, that will also provide an adequate indication on how fubar'd your motor is.

I'm going with the theory that the motor was not in the best condition in the beginning. The amount of stress that the 5th gear pulls produce is probably what killed your motor. Tuning can only do so much. I've seen stock blocks handle an easy 400whp with great tuning whereas a motor fail blow a head gasket at only 197whp with great tuning. Every motor is different.
