Default Diagnostic & General Discussion: Using Twin Boost Solenoid's

I have the s300 with the Boost Solenoid that comes with it. I have a Benson 83MM GSR with a PTE 6265 1.15ar T4 Twin Scroll Manifold Twin 38mm WG's, etc.

I am going to be making 35psi or more. I would like to try and hit 10's on the M&H 235/60/15s. My question is can I add/run a 2nd boost solenoid to be able to control/run 6 pound springs in both my twin tial 38mm WG's and have it hold the full 35PSI? I don't want to keep switching springs if I don't have to..

My goal is to run 1st and 2nd gear at the lowest PSI level that the s300 will allow and hold big power up top.

1st & 2nd, 6PSI
3rd, 20
4th, 28
5th, 35

Thanks in advance!

I am selling my 3 port and getting the 4 port... I read a review of a guy that set it up for 5 psi in 1st gear and ran 32psi in 4th gear... thats my kind of boost control!

Wow, that's awesome. I will most likely be picking one up too!

You can run the 4-port, or dual 3-port.. By principle, they work in the same manner if you hook up the ports correctly.

I have an AVCR on my Evo, but I ran dual solenoids since I had a spare solenoid anyway and didn't want to wait to order a 4-port. Here's a pic (bottom of the pic):

One solenoid will be configured up in an external wastegate layout, and the 2nd solenoid will be hooked up in internal wastegate layout, The bottom port of the wastegate will be hooked up to the 2nd solenoid (the one in internal WG layout). All it is doing, is completely eliminating the boost signal to the bottom port of the wastegate, meanwhile the 1st solenoid is sending all its signal to the top port. It works identical to the 4-port.

did a car on s300 with dual solenoids we installed a few weeks ago with 5psi springs... we quit turning the boost up at 35psi, but i think we were only at 75% or so on the control. works really well.

How do you drive two solenoids with the S300?

I actually have 2 3 port solenoids in my garage.... Can I use both of those instead of purchasing a 4 port when I already have 2 3 port solenoids? If so, How would I connect them? I am using a single 60mm tial wastegate though...

is there a diagram for 2 solenoid on s300? using a single 60mm gate.

started at 6psi maxed out the solenoid at 24psi need more boost.

Same way you drive one 4 port solenoid on s300...there are only two wires on a four port solenoid

You can also use nitrous outputs to control another solenoid (on/off) only to hide boost from the side port, which can help get more boost out of a smaller spring and set that solenoid to close at higher rpms, mph...or whatever parameters that the nitrous controls give you (hint mph) so you can run more boost in higher gears

I would like to know how to set this up in s300. I want to able to run 25+ psi on race gas but my car is street driven and I would love to have less then 10 psi in 1st and 2nd gear.

Does this work for Two Solenoids with 1 wastegate?

is this diagram functional with 1 wastegate?

Anyone know if that diagram I posted would work with 2 solenoids on 1 wastegate? I ask because I have two in my garage and rather than purchase the 4 port solenoid when I already have 2 of the 3 port solenoids. I would rather save some money.

The question now is how well this works and the resolution you get.

Would this be more responsive then 1 Solenoid? I have just got a 7lb spring to dial the car in at lower speeds but I can still hit 25lbs at only 75% with one solenoid.
